Can't say as I am totally suprised, GW don't like stuff being leaked and BoW were posting stuff up well in advance, sometimes from companies who probably had a Non-disclosure contract. (They mention a company in Poland for example). That company may have lost their contract with GW or even been (legitimately this time), taken to court for breach of contract. Not technically BoW's fault, but....
All retailers are under the same obligations of not giving away details until GW is ready. If Wayland were slipping stuff to BoW, then they were knowingly breaking the contract which they had agreed to. Again, not BoW's fault, but I'm sure they were happy to accept it.

At the end of the day, a lot of companies try to keep new products under wraps. GW are pretty heavy handed about handling this kind of stuff and their reputation precedes them in this area. They could have handled it better, (as usual), but they do have non-disclosure agreements of their own that they have to follow with New Line Cinema. If stuff is getting leaked they have to show that they are dealing with it.

Not trying to apologize for GW here, but I'm really not going to lose sleep over this one. Plus I personally find the BoW guys highly irritating, so I'm ok with them losing their inside track on new toys.

Well that was an entertaining read and video. Poor Beasts of War. It seems like they don't want to back down (moving to Nottingham) but seem to be slightly panicked about the whole thing.
I'm interested to how they will keep making content. If it were my channel I'd stay away from covering 40k and report on all the other cool games out there. Interesting stuff if not sad to see GW make themselves the ogre again.

Just about finished up Squatifying my bulldozer crew. Played around a bit with some of my new Reaper Bones. The quick review. They look like what they are, cheap Chinese re-casts. And at those Kickstarter prices, that is cheaaaap! About 30 bucks got me two fistfuls of cool toy's I'd never have the cash to get otherwise. Detail is soft compared to metal, but not distressingly so. Clean casts. Very little in the way of mold lines. No flash to speak of. The material is quite soft. Swords and staves bend. I have not tried heating them up with hot water and repositioning anything yet. It cuts nice and clean and sharp. I put a couple decorative nicks in a shield to test it. Don't know how it drills yet. I started painting a bit. I can verify you don't have to prime them. A pleasant surprise. Green stuff seems to stick to it too. Interesting experiment.

Quite content this weeked. The saga of my missing driving licence paper is seemingly resolved, as my good old silver haired mum back in blighty has located the errant form just when it seemed hopeless. My wife and I are very happy about that, as without it getting a licence would have been a huge hassle, as I said, possibly necessitating brief residency back in the UK just to get a new licence and get mobile. As it stands no replacement licences are issued to non UK residents. Now I shouldnt need to go back and be apart from my missus.
I looked at some storage solutions for my minis too, and ordered some trays from wayland that should fit in existing bags and keep things tidier.
Tomorrow I am home alone, so I'll get cracking on some commandos to bring my Dads Army list up to 1000pts for future Bolt Action games, perhaps bodge together a home guard sniper, hopefully base and undercoat some Fallschrimjager. I've been watching old black and white WWII themed movies this week, perhaps another will be the background to my daubings, glueings and filings. Some real gems to be found from the British perspective, particularly enjoyed Dunkirk and The Colditz Story, both starring John Mills. Might give The Desert Rats a try tomorrow - cant go wrong with Richard Burton.

No hobby time for me today. I was out all day with the wife looking at housing companies and model houses. Luckily we finished off the day with a trip to the cinema where we watched The Wolverine. Aside from the Shinkansen fight scene, it was pretty good. Looking forward to Days of Future Past now.

We looked at all the usual suspects (Daiwa etc) and basically you were paying a huge amount of cash just to choose model A, B or C from them. Any variation from their set plan was met with frowns and harrumphing. Provence, otoh, basically said "what do you want in your house, Mr. B?" and went from there. Their company policy is: Nothing is impossible. They're based in Suzuka, but I'm pretty sure they either work in Aichi or have connections up there. Regardless of who you go with, I'd strongly suggest looking at smaller companies (and that often means no show house. Those things cost a looooot of money.) You'll get far better treatment and far better prices. Just a spot of advice from one who spent the past two years researching and putting into practice what he learned

Hobby wise, I got nowt done today. As well as a small hillock of Sedition Wars minis, I've got a mountain of Plague Hulk bits on the table waiting to be cleaned up (and boy is that gonna take a while) and a master plan for a paint job/conversion/base of such epic coolness bards will tell tales of its awesome. Sadly, a plan is largely all it is likely to remain for a while, cos my parents went back to Scotland today, leaving me and the missus to deal with Sean (demanding) and Noah (very demanding.) Ach weel, such are the joys of parenting. It's not like we didn't bring it on ourselves, I spose...

Yesterday, a friend and I assembled and painted some Space Marines while listening to Absolute Radio 90s and flashing back to our teenage years. Today, I played Blood Bowl Team Manager using one of the new teams from the expansion set, then Wiz-War, then the Lord of the Rings deck-building car game, then had a curry. Tomorrow, I need to assemble some more Space Marines for a 400-point game of 2nd edition 40k on Tuesday.

Like MiJ, I used a small company. Have been very happy. Had one or two problems this year with a leak, but they took care of it .
