Today I got my current batch of minis varnished and based.
First up, some Roman Auxiliary Cavalry for Hail Caesar.

Next, some Samurai Cavalry, also to be used with Hail Caesar (though not against the Romans).

Finally some Russian Infantry for Bolt Action. (Hmm, I should probably dust them as there is a bit too much snow on the minis. Plus I need to fix the googly-eyes on the guy with the pistol).

Just about finished my venom.

It still needs panel lining, but basically it's done. I'm quite pleased with it, especially since it only took a few days (probly, venom plus crew took under a week.) Although I'm technically supposed to be working on my corsairs, it was nice to take a wee break and just do something for fun.

Tonight I shifted work to the 7 CSM models from the Black Reach box that I hope to make my Black Legion Chosen. I have to give GW lots of kudos on that set. The Helbrute (Dreadnaught) and the Chosen models are fantastic.

Needz mor Dakka!
I'm guessing it's somewhere in the 10,000 yen range.

The Morkagorkanaut, brought to you by Tonka!
It's daft, but I like it.

105yankeebucks for the gorkmorkanot, I believe. Pricey, but hardly surprising given their usual antics. It's a nice model, and I reckon it could look well impressive given the right paint job. Also, I assume it's highly convertible.

Could you scratch build one?

Hmmm. That's odd. The Dorkanaut is actually cheaper here in Japan (according to Googles currency converter) than in the UK and auto qualifies for free shipping. Go figure.

On the note of free shipping.
If you try to order anything in GBP you have to pay at least 50 pounds to ship from the UK to Japan. I ordered the new 7th ed. book from Japan and I got a free shipping as it was over 10,000 yen. A non-delivery note was put through my door the other day. My book was shipped from the UK....

Today I took a good 4 or 5 hours out of my day to kick back and finish reading the fluff from the 6th ed rulebook. I read all except the suggested battles chapter which I may go back to. I particuarly enjoyed the Bestiary if you can call it that and the histories. The appendices are worth a look also if you haven't yet. Some really random stuff like how to dress a field wound from a las gun. :) They are written almost like dvd extras.
I'm going to have a read of Rogue Trader next before the new rulebook arrives. I'm wondering how much of the new edition will have the fluff copy and pasted. I wonder if they will rewrite it all again?

@ Prim, are you saying if you order in yen it's free shipping but if you chose GBP you get charged postage. That's mad. I ordered mine in yen. I thought the prices were high but reasonable when clicking to yen actually. Mainly because of the free postage.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.
