Warbands are currently 22.50GBP, yes? It's only an 11% increase, that barely counts where GW are concerned. Plus it's on new models.

well, aye, it is this time. But they were 17.50 not so very long ago. And sure, a 42% price increase in two years or so is small potatoes compared to other things theyve done eg with Rhinos, but when you consider it from the perspective of...well, pretty much anything that isnt GW, 42% increases over 2 years is bonkers.

Tbh I'm probably coming across as more aggrieved than I actually am. I still plan to get the S4 warbands, and I still very much want to keep playing the game, but 3 or 4 price increases in 2 years is a veeeeeery clear trend, and not one I'm comfortable about at all. I was in a chat with a bunch of folks on facebook about this this morning and there were a variety of strong opinions being slung around, ranging from spitting the dummy and walking off in a huff to shameless shilling for The Man. Fwiw, can-you-roll-a-crit John reckons it was a very ill advised move, too, and he's probably the world's biggest Underworlds fan. Eh, I'll be keeping a weather eye on the horizon, but for now I shall do no more than that.

ps and incidentally, a quick google of "spevna" brings up Mus's twitter feed as hit number one, and the subesquent 7 results are all also Mus related, so much respect to him for working that algorithm like a boss

GW toys are just a class in themselves, but they priced themselves out of my budget years ago. I think the last GW stuff I bought was a box of Skitarii out of the bargain bin at Yellow Submarine for something like 3000-3500 probably.....3-4 years ago? Love to pick up some sisters and Deathwatch and build a couple Kill Teams, but I'm just not going to shell out this 4000 for a single human sized character. And since I can't leave anything un-kit-bashed, I need bits from 3 kits to build just one model! That and putty and brass tubing and plastruct and Tamiya kits.....
I think I'll roll up a random Warband with the old Realms of Chaos books, kit bash it and find an Underworlds faction that fits. Hows that for a full-Spevna?

The very warband that sparked this tangent would probably fit if you rolled one sorcerer and three warriors! You could honestly just print off and sleeve the cards and play like that.

Would also be a very legit way to play some Warcry since you'll have a lot more flexibility to match your weird and wonderful kitbash team there.

I’m really liking those new skellies, and as Andrew pointed out over on Facebook, huzzah for skeletons finally getting to wear clothes

I do feel, though, that having them all cocking their heads to the side gives a little bit of a “nyaha! Atashi kawaii, desho?” kind of look. No? Anyone? Just me?
