I gave this a 10 be cause there is nothing about it I do not like. And it is jus plain good.
Thats two 10's you gave out one day after saying you never do it, just because M_i_J called you on it. You have the moral flexibility of a politician my friend. Stick to your guns! Stand by your principles!
I am not saying I never give 10s I just have to find a model that works for me.

it's a 2.5 from registered voters mind you. I'd give it a 2, maybe. The painter obviously set out to be grotty, and achieved that goal (and then some). I'm sure we can find worse, if we look hard enough :)

It's got paint on it at least. I'd also give it a 3. I figure 1 is for nothing or just primer. 2 is for splashing paint on it (those models with a base coat brushed roughly in streaks over a primer). 3 if you tried a bit to give it some kind of texture, shade, layering, or detail. At least this painter went that far.

I'm just confused on CMoN. Sometimes you see an unpainted model that is up for voting. Is the poster trying to get a score on their conversion or assembly?

Look at the hand painted runes! Amazing work on top of the effects he included into the scheme. And great ingenuity on the diaroma base. I can't imagine who could have rated it less then 10.

There are a lot of good models put there but my problem with this model the technique robs the presentation the chopper on this model is over done.

My score for this model is 9

I agree. The quality of the painting is great, but the overall colour choices and presentation are confusing. I wouldn't even give it a 9 myself.

Now, that Space Wolf you posted earlier in the thread I would give a 10.

Good points. But as for the model posted just above, in my mind it is a 10. Maybe I partly think I'm in no position to judge his color schemes, but I also think tastes differ and I feel I shouldn't be too severe about colors. Anyway, there might be an intention to give the model some sense of "heat" and "violence" nicely reserved for those, well, unusual choice of colors. (Actually, on second thought, it could just as easily be "9" in my mind. Uh, such a fine difference between 9 and 10. :? ) [On third thought, I'm going to change my mind to "9". It just doesn't stack up to how smooth the painting that are 10 are.]

BTW, I'm not on this forum to check every model posted. I check out CMoN once in a blue moon to just enjoy some random examples, so excuse me, Badruck, if you think I'm some how ignoring you. :)

That ork you posted is a verra interesting example, actually. I find myself agreeing with Job, here (weird, huh? :P ). For all that I personally don't like the riot of colours, the artist has explicitly said he was going for an extreme contrast approach. The model is extremely well painted technically, and the artist has expressed exactly what e intended to, which is something I never manage to do. So, despite personally not liking it very much, I'd rate it a 10 due to technical excellence.

In terms of technical painting, yes, it is very good.
I don't like it though, so I could never rate that ork as a 10. :D
