@ MiJ: Good looking chicken. Nice work mounting it on the base.
@ Spevna: Looks good.
@ ToD: I like the paint scheme.

Tonight I worked on the uniforms on my French artillery.

ToD, I like the two-tone scheme, looks a bit Mass Effect to my eye.
Spevna, he's brilliant. I'll hopefully start my Saga stuff too, before the year's out.

I am awake at silly o'clock due to the baby. Prepped most of the Fallschirmjager tonight. Assembling part metal/all metal vehicles and artillery is a major pain however and I realise how spoiled we are in these days of plastic kits. One thing you say fo GW, eh? Warlord Puma looks okay, now glued, but again, crewed by what looks like a small child in comparison to his fellow Germans.

Dang, now I'm wishing I'd gone with straight black and white with yellow unit markings, heh.

Hopefully I'll get some good progress today with the typhoon and all.

The Neptunes are biggish - 10cm from nose to tail. Plus not too cheap if you just want the flyer - 10GBP each from Wayland. Really, being all in resin, DZC isn't too cheap for individual models, and only starts to get affordable when you start basing armies around the exceedingly reasonably-priced plastic starter boxes (28 GBP for three dropships, 4 walkers, 2 APCs and 4 stands of infantry in the PHR's case).

A little drizzle and everyone starts running for cover. :D
I'm at work today thanks to Nagoya's subway system.
Over the weekend I watched Guardians of the Galaxy, which was pretty awesome. I did a little painting on some of the minis on my workbench. I visited my new house and worked out how many power sockets I need and where I want to put them. Now I have to put in a couple of hours before and after lunch, then I'm done for the day.

I wish there'd be a typhoon every day! This weekend I slapped some base coats onto my three untouched leman russes in an assembly line style, which went surprisingly quickly. I still need to paint some of the metal bits, the turrets, sponsons, and weapons. Followed by shading and some weathering (at least, what I can do without an airbrush).

Finished up my first PHR unit for Dropzone, and got a start on the grey basecoat for the next batch.

Today I spent most of the time playing with my kids, but I managed a wee bit of painting. Not sure how visible it is in the pic, but the armour plates are shaded to black, highlighting to follow. Also, the bronze is an odd concoction of orange, mahogany and metallic medium. It does pretty much match the bronze id used previously, though, so I'm happy enough with it. Anything on the mini that ain't bronze or armour plate will be dark silver, boney face and claws notwithstanding.

There's a nice wee base that comes with this mini, too:

I also managed to start playing Mass Effect 3, in anticipation of my infinity stuff arriving soon. I hope, anyway - I got my dispatch notice about 2 weeks ago, but no sign yet... :?
