Re: Project: Advanced Space Crusade
Nice orcs mate.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Oh, I've got all the Zoats - except the baby one, of which only a dozen exist, apparently.
How about something like this for the bases?

Depending on whether the models you're doing for this are going to be exclusively for ASC, you could even use 30mm squares instead.

Hmm! Now clear acrylic, that's an idea. One of the things I was worried about was that, since (as you can see) the boards are stupid brightly colored, doing bases to match would overpower the minis themselves. Clear acrylic, though, would solve that problem. Hmm...AndrewGPaul wrote:Oh, I've got all the Zoats - except the baby one, of which only a dozen exist, apparently.

Love the mind slaves. Though to be "mind" slaves they'd have to have a mind....
"Errr, you gotz sumfink on yer 'ead there..."
"`Ear now, so 'ave you..."
"Oye! So I 'az.....Well, then...wantz ta go and kill sumfink?"
"Times a wastin'. Off we go."

...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Re: Project: Advanced Space Crusade
I'm using them for my Infinity models, and perhaps also my Necromunda gangs. I put a pin through the model's foot and into the base, and glue them together with two-part epoxy. If you're using plastic models, especially ones with big feet like Marines or Orks, the pin probably isn't necessary. The Other Dave wrote:Clear acrylic bases ordered. Thanks for the idea!
It also means that you can put status markers under the model, rather than potentially cluttering the board by having them next to the model.

Your genetic material's mine, pal!

They turned out rather festively, I think. They look like they might like to invite you to a party.
A bit of touching-up to do, and the bases aren't decorated on account of the whole acrylic base thing. Still, not bad for a day's work.

Acrylic bases!

I gotta say, I like it. The genestealers and hormagaunts will take some drilling and pinning, but the terminators fit, so so should the warriors when they get here.
This is the nice thing about projects like this - unlike, say, collecting an army, there is an end point, and when it's in sight it's a cool feeling.
