@lovejoy - aye, Ise is nice. Carrying the wean, not so much.

@spev - fine work on the old skool, as ever.

Today I watched a bit of Daredevil (very good, btw. Thoroughly recommend it) then spent about 2 hours trying to give netflix my money. No sir, they dont want it.

*clears a space for a bit of soapboxing*

Why oh why oh why do i have to jump through so many bloody hoops just to pay a TV company some money to watch their TV shows? Seriously? It's like they actively WANT me (and a bajillion others) to illegally download stuff. It. Should. Not. Be. This. Bloody. Hard. Netflix: get the finger out. Let people pay for what they want to watch. Easily, and without geoblocking, or other wank of that nature. The whole point of bloody netflix is ease of access. As soon as it becomes necessary to delve into your router settings and learn what things like DNS filters and static routes are then the average person will just walk away, probably about as far as the nearest torrent site. Only reason I'm persevering is that I like daredevil and want them to make more, and I want to encourage em to do so by paying em.

Jeebus.

@ Spevna: Beautiful. I love your gritty style and nothing says badass for a marine to go in gloves off with a Kill emblazoned on his shoulder pad. Good detail.

@J-Z: Love the beautiful starships.

Last couple of nights I worked a bit on four CSM bikers. But, tonight I shift gears and work on building a new sniper team for my Germans.

Ooh! Is it good! Daredevil was always one of my favorite characters. I saw a bit of a preview and was thinking....oh man, they are going to screw this up....

And hey, is anyone else getting a stiff gear stick counting the days until "Fury Road"? Apparently they did not screw it up either!

@konrad - I'm only on ep 2, but it has been damn good so far. Very different in tone to agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The latter are clearly good guys and there's a very comic bookish feel to the whole thing. Daredevil, otoh, is much darker (both in tone and visually) and you really feel for the guy when he gets in a fight. Kinda screw up your face in sympathy in a "oooh this is gonna hurt" kinda way. He's not very nice at all, but the bad guys are sufficiently unpleasant that you kinda find yourself agreeing with his methods.

Defo worth a watch, assuming you can fight your way through netflix's barriers to viewer payment

As for mad max, aye - very keen to see it. Would be keener if we were actually being treated like the rest of the entire planet and already had it. Could be worse. Japan only lags a month behind Kazakhstan and Cambodia* for mad max. We're a full 2 - 3 months behind em for the Avengers.

*these are just examples. It really is the Entire.Rest.Of.The.World that gets it a month before us. I know, I've been ranting a lot recently, but tell me I ain't justified in doing so?

MiJ, Netflix is coming to Japan legally from September this year. Might be worth just waiting a few months.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

@yellowstreak - cheers mate. Maybe you can use it in a game of Bolt Action! Lol

@Jehan Reznor - I think it was a Sturmtiger, but not sure if it's out of production. Couldn't find it on the Tamiya webstore. Perhaps Konrad might shed some light on when it originally landed in his hands?

I'd never considered using Tamiya models with 40K (still not sure how I feel about it) but I did my best to customise it as much as possible and make it look the part thanks to my box o' bits. I guess it looks the part, the gun is almost identical in appearance to the GW vindicator.

Totally agree about Netflix - pain in the arse. I've had Japanese Hulu for a while now, and it's finally starting to have some decent stuff. Can't complain for ¥990 per month I guess, but considering what the US version has available to their viewers, it's hardly comparable.

@ Ashmie - Netflix is already legal in Japan, same as it's legal in every other country in the world. Geoblocking is not a legal issue. Torrents and whatnot are. That's why I'm trying to get Netflix in the first place. The regional controls are so they can keep their regional buyers (tv networks) happy by not releasing stuff they've sold to them to the general public until they've run on the local TV network. Thus, US Netflix has a much larger catalogue of titles than any other country's version. It'll also mean that Japanese Netflix will be full of stuff in Japanese (which makes perfect sense, of course. Can't fault em for that.)

Which is why I'm trying to get it. Easier said than done, though. But, I will persist, and I will persist in an entirely law abiding fashion, too.

So long as you don't mind Pop-Up ads, there are free streaming services available that get shows the day after they air on US Tv.

Today I went to see if our kid is going to be a boy or girl. Well, we learned the kid is healthy but because he or she was shaking his/her bottom so much the doctor couldn't tell us yet. Next, my wife and I enjoyed a siesta at home and I painted some BA minis I primed this morning. I also managed to play a mission on Combat Mission, and then went out to Nagoya station for a lesson-and-dinner with my brother in-law and aunt in-law. Great Chinese food. I just managed to put on some more paint and a wash on the minis.

This evening I managed to get some painting done, rather than play on the PC. (Well, I should say 'in addition to' as I did play Medieval 2 for an hour).
I got a Sherman nearly finished. Still need to drybrush some dirt and add decals/weathering when I get some time. I also went over the basecoats on 25 SS Grenadiers. Finally, I added a quick dash of paint to a Malifaux mini.
