Be careful guys. Cloning long extinct species didn't work out so well for those Jurassic Park guys.
@ToD - After extensive searching, it looks like the Tyrant Guard I thought I had, was indeed the Hive Guard mini I brought along to the last Joshin. Sorry.

A belated cheers to MiJ, Claymore was a great show and a fun experience. AndrewGPaul dropped us off at the station, for which many thanks - it was good to finally meet him, too. Something for everyone at this event, many enticing games. Took in some WotR, watched the Jurassic Park dino game from AGPs Glasgow Gamers Group, which deservedly picked up a prize. But really, so much on offer in many scales. As MiJ said, I noticed a surprising number of people with a new copy of Age of Sigmar under their arms, so there seems to be interest.
With birthday money from my kindly, silver-haired parents, I scored some classic gw metals for not very much at all, as well as an mdf castle and tower for a lot more. They're very nice indeed though.

Re: What did you do today.
Today I haemorrhaged large amounts of cash onto the internet. Couldn't help meself...
Specifically, I ordered the Lynch mob (sorry, Crew) for Malifaux. Would like to one day actually play with em, but I realise that basically I'll likely be mostly painting them. I also bought a bunch of mdf scenery for sci fi stuff. Not a huge amount, like, but enough for what I hope will be a cool board. I have a cunning plan re: an Infinity/Dredd board. I already got a bunch of mdf fantasy buildings (and a gallows) at Claymore but shippingon the SF stuff was about 4 quid to my parents house, as opposed to nearer 40 quid to Japan, so I figured what the hell, saves money in the long run...

Re: What did you do today.
That seems like a lot for shipping. Which company did you buy from? I'm interested in picking up more terrain myself at some point, so best know in advance which one to avoid.

Re: What did you do today.
The 4quid was very reasonable, I thought. The "nearer 40" was more of a general example cost, rather than what this specific company would have charged for this specific order (since I'm in te UK just now anyway, I didn't investigate Japan shipping for this order). I've been quoted that kind of price before for shipping to Japan for similar stuff by others though. More, in fact. MDF is buggersome heavy stuff.

Re: What did you do today.
Fair enough. I know 4ground have free shipping (and no tax) over a certain order value and I think Sarissa have a flat rate fee. It doesn't always have to be expensive, but shipping does limit your choices somewhat.

Re: What did you do today.
It's tempting! Although I do want to get the hive guard eventually, as they're nice (if pricey) models.me_in_japan wrote:@ToD - I've still got that RT space zoat. I could even clone it for you if you wanted. Just sayin'
Last night I assembled some terminators - a heavy flamer, 2 lightning claws, and 2 thunder hammers, just to give my marines the full range of weapons options - and promptly put them in the "to prime" box to remove their temptation so I can concentrate on the 6mm napoleonics and 28mm germans on the table.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Re: What did you do today.
Like the sound of an Infinity-Dredd board, hope to get some good mdf for Dredd down the line. The stuff used in the dino game was pretty near the mark. I'm just waiting for the (near as can be) perfect stuff to exist for Mega City One. Sure I heard somewhere that 4ground will be doing 28mm sci-fi soon.
And I love the 4ground fabled realms stuff. Who doesn't? It's just a shame that the stylings are a bit too fantasy for Bolt Action and other periods. It would be amazing to fill a small table with it though.
In time I'll likely sell off the resin buildngs I have, and replace them with mdf. So much lighter, less prone to breakage and interiors are usable.
