I'm tempted Prim. Easier to carry a few mechs than a whole IG army to Nagoya.

On other news, FF14 was slow today so got bored and scrapbuilt this from IG and zombie spare pieces. I've told my medics that they shouldn't get near Nurgle troops no matter what, but do they listen? Time to take out the flamethrower from the APC.

Also - very nice work on the terrain, mike. Inspiring stuff, as usual :)
And i'll throw a couple of "hussies" in there for good measure then.

I'm assuming in Scotlando-go these are not bad words, or at least have not been for 150 years or so.

's fine - she's been called worse. Thick-skinned, is our Colette, as dainty as she may appear. Besides, anybody offends her too much and she'll just sic the Coryphee on em. Or magic em into a hole in eternity. One or t'other :)

And yes, such remarks lost most of their sting a good century and a bit ago.

Over the last week or so, I've been painting up the Nomads from the Operation: Icestorm Infinity starter game:

Well, I just wanted to check in and report. I've been all tied up lately as my little girl was born this week.

Image

I am sorry that I had to take off so suddenly at the last Joshin, but my wife went into labor on Sunday. Well, actually, early contractions which kept up all day. We checked into the hospital once at about 9pm, but they sent my wife back home because the contractions were still not strong enough. Of course, those contractions kept my wife up all night, and on Monday morning the contractions were strong enough to check in. Still, it took all of Monday and all night Monday for her contractions to become stronger and for her to dilate enough. And even then the contractions weren't coming strong enough for birth, so after 60 some hours of contractions for my wife, no sleep for two nights (and my wife actually woke up 4am Sunday morning with some slight contractions), Dad managing along with 4 hours, some medication, and heck of a lot of pain and effort by my wife, finally our little girl came into this world 12:50pm Tuesday.

She was, of course, worth the wait. Her name is Lorraine June O'Brien and she'll be registered with the Japanese name オブライエン絢(ジュン).

That's my hobby report other than buying a book on Napoleonic Polish infantry and doing a dab of work on my next regiment of French. Tomorrow Mom and the baby move into the house.

Congratulations! Lorraine is a cute kid. Sounds like you both had a gruelling time, especially your wife of course. Glad everything seems fine.

This weekend was completely earmarked for family stuff for me. After 6 days of work in a row, preparing students for Eiken tests, Saturday and Sunday were totally given over to the wedding of my sister-in-law and the aftermath. Louis wouldn't stay still, so there was a lot of carrying and retrieving him yesterday. Still pretty tired this morning, not a bad time though.

Welcome to Geek Dads club! Congratulations to you and your wife. I suspected something was a foot when you took off so early. Especially well done to your wife, most first pregnancies/deliveries are particularly hard and drawn out. She is not alone there. Once again... おめでとうございます。

By the way, I love Lorraine as a name but expect to have French and German suitors fighting for her affections when she gets older :D

Congrats Joe. Absolutely beautiful little girl she is. So, I can only assume she takes after her mother. :) 1 to 1 scale miniature people are the world's best hobby. Just getting the to stay still while you dry brush them can be a problem.

And speaking of more pictures, I saw one of our very own Lovejoy posted up on the back of my JHS 3rd graders classroom, his smiling face cheerfully inviting them to enroll at Lovejoy's Big Fun Eigoland High School. I'm only roughly translating the school name as best I can. I'll be calling him "Posterboy" from now on I think.
