@prim: Hey thanks for offering, if they are metal though i would have to decline. Gw has thoroughly spoiled me with plastic

@mij: awww bother! I'd rather not have to redo it. I'm going off youtube tutorials and this guy.

Let's just chalk it up to reverse thermal engineering. Such artifice could only come from the genius craftmenship of the emperor himself.

@Jus: Fairly impressive :)
What paints are you using for your gold/silver/wash layers.? GW air? Vallejo? An ancient Chinese recipe? :D

@MiJ: there's always one, isn't there? :roll:

@Prim: Nice Saxon (scum). Their nailed god effigy will cap the mighty funeral pyre we make of all the Saxon bodies nicely.

Aye! Nice work to Prim and to Jus! :)

Jus - let's go with the reverse thermal engineering. Or, hell, it is the bloody Emperor's sword after all, and what he'll darn well do things how he darn well pleases, and anyone foolish enough to say otherwise shall soon find a pack of rather angry wolves at their door. :D

Primarchs are cool, so cool! (Yes - even Evil Overlords :P )

(Got to get on to finishing my Vikings that are waiting to be painted! :| )

Nice work on the clergy there Prim (also a subtle hint to the rest of us to paint our Saxons/Vikings? Or am i just feeling guilty?)

Also nice work on 'big blue' there Jus. Kinda makes me jealous not to have picked a first founding chapter with a Primarch of it's own (suffering Primarch envy :mrgreen: ), although I think I've worked out a quick(ish) and easy way to paint my Lamenters (thanks ToD for the tip on the vallejo yellow paint).

@ys: lament not. Sanguinius might be coming back! You never know, it might happen. It would be cool not to mention the revenue he would make for gw.

@pike: secret Chinese formula for painting gold :
1: prime model. Black/white doesn't matter.
2: base coat a bright silver. I used vallejo air silver. Very effective but don't thin too much of it
3:let dry them apply several washes off very watered down citadel retributor gold with a brush
4: apply old leviathan purple wash mixed 50:50 with any matt medium for purple hue
5: work up with liberator gold

Kung hei fat choi!

Today I got these guys done up to the "everything but the dang chapter symbol" stage, where I usually pause / put off painting the inevitable-wonky double scythes.

Just a couple more reivers and my current stock of biglys will be done - then I'll get to work on my hab pods, plus some grots and (since it's apparently useful despite the fact that it's dumb as all get out) an armorium cherub for my devastators.
Feel free to call me Dave!

@ToD - Nice work on the biglys, but no transparent bases? :D

That's only after they get a coat of sealer, which is after the chapter symbols are done - it wouldn't do to have frosty bases!
