What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
Tod :Wow, reivers! Nice. The yellow really makes a bold statement. Hmm Wouldn't it have made better sense to call them reavers? Don't tell me it's a licensing thing. Maybe that's the reason for the target obtuse naming conventions for "intercessors" and "interceptors".
Konrad : wow, super rad! Is that gw green stuff you are working with? My green stuff might just be really old but it's not as sticky anymore.
Like the Frenchman who slashes yesterday's paintings in disgust, I've decided to strip abs redo parts of guilliman.

@Konrad - Nice work on your girls.
@Jus - Maybe those new Reivers are related to these guys? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Border_Reivers

Yeah, GW really is working that thesaurus hard these days. But hey, all the good names are already taken.
I have actually been doing something besides sculpting and painting mostly-nekkid, road-warriors. Those POC figures are sooooo fun.

Not real happy with the paint job on this guy. But I think the colors work. Trying to get that purpley-jadegreeny 40K pallete of a couple editions ago. That and a rusty red medieval mace and a weird bio-cyber arm whatsit. A true grim-dark all you can eat.

And this last one is better than half done. I was inspired by that reverse thermal engineering. I need to do a bit more highlight and get me a bottle of Tamiya clear red. Anyone know a good glue or craft-goop of some sort available in Japan for making sticky, strings of blood and gore?

I used a mix of cotton wool, tamiya clear red, a little dark red/brown paint and a little white glue and was pretty pleased. You have to play around with the mix a bit though.Konrad wrote:Anyone know a good glue or craft-goop of some sort available in Japan for making sticky, strings of blood and gore?

@prim : ooh so reivers are an actual thing. Ok i feel better about the name then. Might have to get a box too. Maybe.
@konrad : reverse thermal engineering for the win. The colors you used on the poc figs are very fitting. I'm going to have to borrow that look for my chaos cultists. Love the earthy orangy beige browns.

I painted up the first of my Sarissa hab pods this morning:

Looks pretty good, although that strut across the top is pret-ty thin, and I'm a bit nervous about tossing it into a box to bring to game day every month. Ah well!
