I'm thinking! I actually kind of like the cool palette, even if it's not very good color-theory-wise - I'm gonna give the haft and head of the axe, and the bit where the blade of the sword is attached to the hilt, another darker pin-shading hit with smoke, but nothing orangey-er than that prrrooobably.

The base isn't done (I really hate plastic scenic bases), but the rest of him is - Hakka, the first member of the orc warband for Shadespire, is done:



I decided to go blue like my goblins, mostly just to be contrary. Aside from that, I was going for something as Black Orc-y as I could manage.

So, after suffering from a bit of the old hobby-block over the past week or so, I took some minis outside to prime after work yesterday. When they were dry, I had a sudden urge to have a go at them with a paintbrush and so spent about 4 hours painting last night. There's just something tempting about minis which aren't yet half-painted and shoved off to one side.

Yesterday I picked up a box of Passive-Aggressors for my Marines ("Nice boltgun. I used to have one just like it when I was a Scout."), so now the goal is to get them painted by next weekend and get them on the table.
