On topic: I am doing lots of hobbying but it's all assembly, the second wave of Sisters + Space Wolves hitting back to back created a fearsome backlog. I'll post a photo of the grey horde when it's done, and then slowly get to painting it all (note: I still have the first wave of Sisters to paint, plus the collection of Terminators I've been incidentally building up >_<)

I ended up picking up Invictor and Centurion kits to experiment with, and in both cases the weapon situation is not clear cut, and I may need to learn to magnetise. Anyone got any good tips/tutorials/starting points for that?

My big hint for magnetizing, since they're widely available in Japan, is: use mounting plates! You can get magnets at Joshin or Plamojuku, and they both should have mounting plates, which are little flat metal discs you can use in place of one of the two magnets on your mount - they come in all the sizes magnets do as they're made expressly for this purpose. The hold will be slightly weaker, but you don't have to worry about polarity at all, which is always the major PITA with magnetizing.

@TOD- never seen them with mounting plates. Will keep an eye out. Handy that. I have a bin of dull cutter blades and snap off bits to make mounting plates.

And here is the latest. Rigged up a mine entrance for the fort. I think I'll rig up some rails and maybe a little cart, but I have to plan out the rest of the fort first. Either I make everything modular and assemble it on the table top, or I build a base for it all and the rest of the fort has tabs and pegs that fit in slots and holes in the base. My first intuition was to make it all modular, like the gate, but a base may actually end up taking less space and make it a lot easier to assemble.

And usual warning- mostly nekkid Diggaz at the bottom

Also re-worked the skull and spear for the Diggasaurus rider. Managed to get the beak less like a toucan and more like a toothy raven-y sort of thing. The original spear was a skinny little thing, so I built a more impressive point and a ring to attach some swooshy bits.

@Konrad - Impressive as always.

@Jye - Batch painting units speeds up the process a bit. Just don't forget to take notes of which colours you have used for future reference.

Finally got a couple of days off. I must be the only person in the apocalypse that has to work everyday.

Sat down, read the Kill Team book again and did a lot of research on different Kill Teams as well as Elites and Commanders.

Made a list of what I think would be 20 good team members - I have half them together and hope to be painting them by this weekend.

How do you post pictures on this site?

The best way is to use an image hosting site, personally I recommend Imgur. (Imgur.com) It's free and fairly straightforward to use.
Post your pictures up there, open them, and there should be a set of link options to select from. One of them is for forum posts. Copy that link and paste it into your post here.

Well today I found out that I was non-essential to my clients and I have been furloughed. While I understand that teaching English to people while all flights are grounded, all business trips are cancelled and all foreign subsidiaries are under a lockdown, may not be a top priority, it is kind of a punch to my ego.

As I have been telling my students all week that I can easily spend several weeks cooped up indoors and not get bored, it's time to put my money where my mouth is I guess.

@ Primarch: I’m really sorry to hear that. :o This virus induced recession is going to hit more than one of us financially, and hopefully not physically, I fear. I hope your employer is ready to offer you the position back when they and the economy generally recovers. But by then you will probably be on to another and (most likely knowing your aptitude and skills) a better position. Best of luck and wishes in the mean time.

Personally, my company has shuttered up once again to ride out this lockdown. Starting tomorrow my section is basically working from the house.

*sigh* I dunno, here in Mie we had a week of entrance ceremonies, including my son's school entrance ceremony this morning, then I went to work as usual in the JHS I'm stationed in.

Then at about 4ish today, it was announced that all the schools in Mie would close until Golden Week.

What can ya do?

*sigh again*
