Went to Sakae with the family for (what was mostly window) shopping, quite pleasant mooching around town.
Later, watched the first 3 episodes of Wolf Hall (period drama from BBC based on book of same name). I'd heard high praise and wasn't disappointed. Tudor machinations, but not, thankfully, like The Tudors tv show. Nicely understated, great actors and acting.
Later, assembled Necrons for a 750 pt list I hope I can bring to next Joshin. The warriors are a bit irritating to put together so far. Thankfully the previous owner (Jus) had already made a start on 20 warriors and a ghost ark, so I'm well on the way. 10 more warriors and 8 immortals should do it.
Don't have the new codex yet though, ho ho!
I quite enjoyed The Tudors. Wouldn't say it was particularly accurate by any stretch, but I certainly captured the spirit of the times i reckon.

Wolf Hall is pretty good though, really easy to imagine it being just like that.

Thanks for birthday wishes,

I think the plastic molecules are unraveling, if if i had it slightly of with the 50/50% it shouldn't be still so gooey
The stuff is over a year old and i think it lost its strength, cleaned the molds and just used green stuff again.

Started to paint my raging heroes ladies and my BFG ships and started to make this from some left overs.
still need to make the engine part. Prow and weapen bay is magnetized

I graduated to white over the past couple days, so things are looking almost done for this little unit. I'll definitely need a break to paint something with colors before tackling the last unit I'll need for 1000 points of PHR.
Feel free to call me Dave!

I'm in a bit of a a lump at the moment and have been doing anything I can to avoid picking up a brush. So today I re-arranged my whole man cave. Hopefully I'll be over my slump soon. I only have a few more weeks of freedom ;)

today I spent a bajillion megapounds on flights to the UK this summer. Up until this evening we had been anticipating my parents coming here, but my wife did a bit o thinking and we realised that it made more sense for us to go out there again this year and have folks come visit us the year after that. So, quick decisions were made and Finnair is now bajillion megapounds better off. Hopefully all will be well. Travelling with a 3yo and a 1yo. What could possibly go wrong  *

*actually, I'm still having flashbacks from the last time we travelled. So, soooooo not looking forward to this :(

Incidentally, the organisation of said trip took up the whole evening, so bugger all painting has been done on this, my one weekend evening of the week :( Not even a beer was quaffed due to being on medication for my wobbly ear-bits affliction

Gah - I'm off to bed. At least I don't have work in the morning...

Jest about finished up the Ares and their dropship - just have to color in lenses and do squad markings and the job's a good 'un. I also got the first metallic undercoat done on the command walkers, because I'm a masochist who loves painting large flat surfaces with light gray and white, apparently. (But seriously, it's because I'd like to have the army painted for Joshin.)

@M - wowza! An actual proper GW model. That's unusual, for you...

As for me, today I also fed the evil empire. Oh yes indeedy - I spent money at GWs own website, no less. Meh, they done good with the harlequins. I figure I can toss em a coupla thousand yen for a solitaire*. They can get bent if they think I'm paying full whack for a J-priced jetbike squad though. That stuff got bought offa ebay (which, I'm aware, ultimately feeds the evil empire, too, but less so, and at least I can feel somewhat mollified by the fact that I got decent shipping prices on em.) Also, I was able to fund the majority of all my costs with the sale of Ar-Fienel, which eventually sold for 152.50 USD. Not as much as I had hoped, but, to be fair, it's almost exactly a hundred quid for a mini I paid 12.50GBP for. Can't complain, really :)

ps Many thanks to all who gave advice on ebaying things. It was all very smooth, I must say. Also, at the end of the day I was only charged about 6 bucks or so for a 150 buck sale, and no fees for having the buyer pay in dollars to my UK based GBP account, then transfering all my paypal USD to my UK bank account. Very happy with how it all went. I sent the package by EMS today, and it should be in the buyer's happy hands by the end of the week. Job is, I hope, a good un :)

*aaaand a voidraven bomber. OK, OK, not harley, but I've been eyeing one for a while. Won't be joining us at naghammer, though, before you start getting any ideas...

Well, the in-laws (both parents and wife's sister) were over for Saturday and a good chunk of Sunday, so precisely no hobby stuff for me. I was itching to get more Necrons glued, too.
We all took another look at one of the houses my wife and I had liked, but it's not getting any cheaper and although roomy, the more we think about it the more it doesn't feel like what we want. It's all useful research at least. Also visited my wife's Uncle, who owns a local Yakiniku place. Where we ate, erm, yakiniku, and it was bleedin' tasty too.
I also fed the evil workshop..a couple of Necron HQ models.
