my latest work.. have a look I really would like to know what people think...

Well, the hulls look ok, now fill in the details, tracks, wheels etc.

Oh, and the Russ has too many guns. You cant mount a heavy flamer and a lascannon in the front hull.

And, too be honest, it doesnt look very 'revolutionary.' They look like green, rusty tanks with grots on top. Nothing screams soviet, communist or rebellious at me. They could be anything really.

well for now I am just build blocking in the body.. I have seen other Grot Reblez armies and really the have all looked rather Meh... too crazy looking full of cartoony junk... I really do not like that look.. these tanks have a light year to go be for they will be done.. I am happy with the colors and the work I have done so far.. but this army will not look like most other Grot armies... it will be dark and gritty and cold. one step at a time..

As for the Heavy Flamer thanks for the heads up ... I had know idea... why would they make it like that? ...guess I will have to get out the pliers and give it a nip ...

The Chimera and Russ share the same upgrade sprue. The heavy flamer is supposed to go on the Chimera Hull where the heavy bolter normally goes.
The Russ kit should have a little panel with a vision slit on it. That is where the driver sits.

The weathering/rust looks good from what I can see mate. I agree with what Prim says about them not having anything particularly Soviet or revolutionary about them.

My advice would be to look at some of the old propaganda posters from the Stalin era or even the Lenin era and use them as a basis for some freehand on the tanks. Maybe think about painting some glyphs on them but using a soviet looking style of art.

To be fair, you pointed out what was wrong but didn't give him any actual advice.
