A big thank you to everyone who came to WinterBlitz today. I'm sure Prim has the exact numbers, but it looked like a very healthy turn-out indeed to me. A particular thanks to Morishita-san, Jus and Prim himself for some very fun games of Warmachine and Malifaux. (well, Malifaux was maa-maa, but thats more due the fact that I got whipped, and that was due to the fact that I dont know the rules very well, which makes it my own fault, really :D I should also say a big thanks to Prim for organising the whole event. I know these things take a lot of work, and you should know that its appreciated a lot.

Thanks also to Badruck, via Prim, on behalf of Vossy (who I believe put in the initial FW order) for bringing my Hornet to me today. Lovely wee model, but holy crap did that thing have a lot of flash/mould lines/lumps on it! Still, tis all cleaned up now :)

Finally, thanks to ToD for the bondage werewolf. Marvelous chap, so he is :)

Anyway, I'm thoroughly looking forward to NagoyaHammer in Golden Week. Bring on tha hamma!

Well, I just got all the terrain boxes squared away for another few months.

Thanks to everyone for coming along today. In total 16 people (including myself) showed up to play:
Flames of War - Thanks to Mike the Pike for bringing the armies.
Necromunda - Thanks to Konrad for teaching the Underdweller about the underhive.
Once upon a Time (is that the right name) - Thanks to the Manuele for bringing this unique little card game.
Gamma World - Thanks to The Other Dave for DMing this for people.
Malifaux - Thanks to M_i_J for the easy win. Just kidding.
Warmachine - Thanks to the Butcher of Khador for living up to his name and killing, amongst other things, the Deathjack.

I really appreciate everyone coming along for these games. Some people travelled a very long way and some could only stay for 1 game, but I hope that everyone had a good time (win or lose) and I look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

I will post up some pictures I took when I get some time.

Oh, and there will be some news that may interest fans of Warhammer Fantasy appearing in these forums very soon, so stay tuned.

Thanks again.
P.

It was the best gaming day I have been to in a long time. I played 3 games of Flames of War and then the Once upon a time rpg card game was a pleasant suprise at the end of the day. Very fun.
Thanks to Dave and Stu for being interviewed for ysdc news Cthulhu podcast and thanks to everyone for the background track of dice roles and ambience.
A really good day. Flames of War is my favourite wargame system now. Very easy to pick up and fast paced. Apart from our 3rd game but that was only held up due to Star Wars quotes. Good times.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

I had a good time at Winter Blitz, thanks for setting this up, Primarch.

Also thanks to Konrad for introducing me to Necromunda, and The Other Dave for GMing the new Gamma world; I've never had more fun being slaughtered by space dwarves or insane robots! Warmachine and Once upon a Time were fun, too, although I wish I'd been able to get in a couple more games with my new warcasters. The Word of Menoth must be spread!

What transpired at winter blitz? bizzaro, story driven card game.

Read at your own peril....and do not judge me when you finish.

Once upon a time... there was a wolf that was tiny and could also speak. The wolf was this way because of the magical apples that were given to him to eat by the cook. As fate would have it the cooks daughter was whisked away and taken to a magical prison. Tasked with saving the cook's daughter the tiny wolf set forth with a key that would set the cook's daughter free. Along the way there was some quaffle about also having to find a magical suit of silver or gold metal inorder to enter the prison to free the cook's daughter from the magical prison, because the tiny wolf owes the cook for giving it magical apples that make him tiny and able to speak.

On his way to the prison, the wolf befriends a tree man, like a ent, and the two become friends, and continue along the road together by the sea. Here the two part ways. The tiny speaking wolf must now swim to the bottom of the sea to use the key to find the silver armour in a chest.....but drowns and dies, because his part was getting boring.

Meanwhile, the ent, whose mind was telepathically linked to the wolf felt its death pangs when it drowned to death and felt obliged to continue the wolf's quest to free the cook's daughter. However before they parted ways, the wolf did make mention of an outcast who could heal the tree man from his curse of being half tree half man, and so he sought to find the outcast. After meandering for some time, the ent met the outcasts daughter who was a shepardess (or she could have been something equally as mundane, I can't quite remember) who was inclined to take the ent back to the outcast to be healed, however, on the way to the outcasts hut, the treeman got talking to the shepardess and got to like her...very much, and shortly after fell in love. True love breaks all curses, according to some happy ending cards, so the curse of the tree man was broken but instead of become a real man, he became a real tree instead, the reason for this was simply this: karma. The tree man had infact been a real bastard in life, a monster in fact, and he didn't really like the tiny wolf, but was honor bound to continue he quest, which by the way, was never was never actually resolved.

The END

I thought I'd take advantage of this brief moment of lucidity to say thanks to ToD for our GWRPGTPK, and to E (forum name unknown) for convincing me (and other people) to play Once Upon a TIme. Hope to see a bunch of you in Tsu in March.

I had a great time too. Thanks to the Underdweller for the Necromunda game. I have been really wanting to try the Community edition rules for the longest time. And thanks to TheOtherDave for the Gamma World. Flaming rat-hordes, hawk-men, robots and saber-toothed tigers, and those were just the PCs! Great fun.

Good Time Had By All.

Thanks to Primarch for organizing a fun day, to Ash for a good game of FoW - and, as always, Mike for letting me sponge off his extensive miniatures collection - someday I'll have an army of my own, I promise! Thanks also to Dave for giving one of my old Confrontation models a new home. There's more where that came from!

I'm glad all the people who took part in Gamma World had fun - I did too, even if it was a combat-heavy dungeon crawl slashfest. A psychic cat, a pyrokinetic rat swarm, Hawk Girl, and a psychoanalyst robot add up to good times. The funny thing is, what with the empathic cat, you had more healing available than most GW parties would...

And gaming after a break put me in the mood to do some painting again! Unfortunately, it mostly put me in the mood to paint 6mm Eldar and Napoleonics, heh. And planted the insane idea in my head (again!) of collecting two full North African armies for FoW in 6mm. Which is not only a lot of work, but also kind of antisocial. Goblins should come first!
Feel free to call me Dave!
