Sorry to be the one who noticed the Emperor's new clothes, but what's the difference?
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I'll just stick with my GW and Vallejo stuff thanks.

TBH there is now I do not know how to take Pictures.. the actual models look much better in Oil than in Acrylic but I would have to sat if I new how to paint with Acrylic I would not need to use Oils...

Are you painting the whole model from start to finish with oils? Dave seemed to be saying that they are just for highlighting in his post.

I am using them for High lights and shading... I painted both these models with GW paints the second model is a mix with oils for the Highlights and shading..
first I thought I would use them just for a bit of weathering and some shading but then I remembered how well they blend.. so I picked up some white and started working with it

Re: Oil Based Paints are they any good? Pros and Cons
Be interesting to see them for real. I have never done any oil painting, even in college when I was an artsy guy.
I do a lot of wet-on-wet blending when I paint figs. I have started using acrylic medium (thanks Matt) to slow the dry time down and make the paint flow better.
Oil with thier slow dry time might work for wet on wet blending. How is the opacity?

Oils work very well for wet in to wet they depending on the color they can take up to a day to dry fully... white take a very long time..

Re: Oil Based Paints are they any good? Pros and Cons
In my albeit limited experiece, oil paints excel at weathering and washes, and would probably also be ace for blending, altho Ive never tried. However, they kinda fall down in the "everything else" categories. drybrushing, lining, freehand, or anything that needs clean, neat lines. I think theyre one of those things, like most painty stuff, which is best used in conjunction with other techniques. I'd say get a couple and play around with em. If they do what you want, great - get more. if not, try something else. Much like any other painting, really.
