I've said it before and I will say it again, I would have a lot more respect for Mantic if they weren't literally copying unique units from the GW armybooks.

While I agree with Cuthbert that the mantic goblin looks more sneaky, with his concealed dagger and all. Its also a cleaner model. I like the GW one better, because its more "busy" with detail. He also looks like batman.

Thats kind of the point. When they copy something from GW (and lets face it, sneaky goblin assassin types are hardly a 'generic' unit, but do happen to be in the new O&G army book that came out just before Mantic's model), they can do an alright job at it. When they have to produce something new from scratch it's kind of lame.

I reckon that its acceptable for mantic to take a stab at their interpretation of GW models. Sometimes theyll be better, and sometimes theyll be worse. Either way, the shoppers will vote with their wallets, and that's only gonna increase the competition to produce better models.

End result: Better sculpts all round.
