HOLY CRUD. It isnt just the metal-resin prices that have gone up.

there are heaps of good online shops but they either do not sell overseas or the shipping cost is too high...
Shipping too/from the US is ridiculous, but probably still better than Japanese prices. Also, most US webstores cant actually show GW's products and you have to CALL to place an order.
Besides, its only a matter of time before GW clamps down on them too.

I'm probably the biggest GW fanboy on here and I have reached my limits of tolerance with the company. I WILL continue to buy their plastics (cos they are gorgeous), but they can take those new resin thingumyjiggers and place them where the sun dont shine. I WILL continue to play the games and I WILL buy new stuff (from Ikeda san wherever possible). Hell, I WILL even continue to slag of IP infringing companies like CHS, because even though GW are bad folks, that doesn't make it right. However I WILL be buying a damn sight less than I currently do. Just the odd model here and there. Thanks to Maelstrom's "goodbye offer" I will have everything I currently need for all my armies.

Thinking of Jumping Ship?

For all of those NagoyaHammer-ers out there thinking of jumping ship.....

Relax.

For I have a cunning plan*. Wheels are in motion, things are happening behind the scenes. Give me some time and when I ask for it, give me a chance to impress.

As for me, here's my plan:

1) buy the new Dark Eldar from Maelstrom. (would rather buy from Wayland, but theyre keeping schtum on offers.)

2) Get the new FW eldar, and the IA13 to run em with.

3) Cease all purchases from GW, with the odd exception made for wraithguard or single figures that are just too nice to not paint.

4) Continue playing 40k with what I've got. If I get bored with my 40k armies, play Warmachine a bit more often. Seriously. I have 3 largish 40k armies, a fair size Cryx battlegroup, and stuff like BB and space hulk to dust off if i need to. I dont need to get into a new game. I dont need to quit 40k. I just need to keep on trucking exacly as-is.

*edit* well, I just bought me my last ever GW purchase. I feel...liberated :D (and somewhat skint...)

*edit* well lookie here. I attached a little "thank you for your great service over the years, GW suck, good luck guys" message to my Maelstrom order, and believe it or not they actually emailed back within minutes to say "thank you very much for your kind words"

I'm quietly impressed, tbh.

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

I will keep playing with the models I have and I 40k and FB will still be played but I will not buy a single model from GW ever again and I will buy nothing with the trade mark on it... I may find other ways of getting the models I want. but GW will never see another sent of my cash... they are greedy pigs they make at least 90% profit from their product... and they are still hiking up the prices these sick ba$#@rds are total jerks for singling South America the average salary is so much lower than what it is in the west and the people that play down there are dependent on the low prices of places like Wayland and Maelstrom in order to play at all.. the elitist pigs at GW have gone too far. I will never ever give them even one ¥ of my money... and I will de everything in my power to play there games not using there models. so will I play 40k yes will I play FB yes will I ever buy another model from GW as long as I live... NO.. all of my events promote scratch building and proxy models from here on out... I am even deleting the GWJ from my speed dial...

I think Ikeda has things that are not GW at his store if so I will be buying them from him... the sad thing is I would have bought my models from him even with the price hike.. but we have been singled out... as a expats... this is what sits badly with me..

boy my plan;

Cancel any more purchases for IG except for a few FW minis
Minotaurs are finished probably for good. 2,300 pnts is good enough I guess
Word Bearers just got back burnered. I'll paint up what I got once my skill is higher but no more on that front. worse comes to worse, I'll fold them into the minotaurs
Grey Knights- Will only purchase what I can get as an outrider
Demons of Chaos- dead halt here. not going to add anytime soon.

Dark Elves- dead halt here, not going to add anytime soon as the metal minis are what I need anyways.
Warriors of Chaos- dead halt here too. need the metal minis as well.
Brettonians: This army is to build up my coversion, painting, basing, and other skills so slow going anyways. good time to get to converting as it is plastic all the way.

And get in some flames of war to see how much I like it.

I think this is strange though.. Have you seen how much they are promoting Citadel Finecast on their website? Check it out.. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/conte ... =16400050a
I am quoting..
Games Workshop's quest to create the best quality miniatures in the world is about to take a huge step forward...

On 28th May we are launching Citadel Finecast miniatures to the world.

Don't miss the full announcement on games-workshop.com on the 23rd May to find out more.

Be sure to be at your local Hobby Centre to experience this unique, once-in-a-lifetime launch day! This will be your first chance to see, touch and buy Citadel Finecast miniatures.

In the meantime, there's only one question you need to ask yourself:

"What will my first Citadel Finecast miniature be?"
I think that they are hyping it up too much for it to just be a recast into resin, would they really do all this just for a change in material??? I don't have much history with GW so I don't know about past things.. I just think that this sounds strange. I wouldn't drag myself out to a hobby center just to get a look at the same model I have at home in a different material.. who knows.. maybe I am not geek enough?

Yes, they are hyping it up. All the models are recasts,
Firstly, the molds they have can be changed very easily.
Secondly, the production methods aren't that different.
The reason why they are hyping it up is to get past the negative feelings due to things being changed. People dont like change (Spevna still wishes he could play Rogue Trader aka 40k 1st edition). :D Resin has a bad reputation for poor quality control, toxic dust, bending easily and snapping at the worst times. This has all been caused by Forge World.   They dont want people getting upset that their new models are the same as their old models in a cheaper material at inflated prices. What else would they say?

This just in from Warseer.
So. Its time for the summer price rise. Yay!

From what I can tell:

All black library books to go up £1.

40k
£50 battleforces to go up to £60.
£4 for all "rhino based" tanks.
£3 onto each of the codex
£3 onto every boxed set of troops which was under £20 previously.
£1 to all guard tanks.
£5 to tyranid warriors (This is my personal favorite.)

Fantasy
Most battalions up £10, some up by £5. (Brets and wood elves?)
Most army books up £3
Nearly every core infantry box which was about £18 bumped up to £20.
Nearly all elite infantry - £25.

So a price rise of £3-5 across the board, it seems. Enjoy that everyone

So Battleforces get a 20% hike in price? I hope that includes the KY jelly so you can lube up before they give you the anal shafting of a lifetime.
