New Continent Discovered!

The famed explorer Marus Palla returned to port last week with startling news. He and his crew discovered a whole new continent, not marked on any maps. After 6 weeks at sea the explorer was shocked to sight land he said. “I checked all my charts and couldn’t find any references to any islands in those waters”. After making landfall and exploring the new land, Marus and his brave crew gathered what supplies they could and made their way back home.

King Lenarde has announced that the country will sponsor new settlements and found a colony in this new world. “In honour of this man’s heroic deeds, the new land will be known as Pallaium” announced the king in his address to the public earlier today.

Several captains have already started gathering settlers and colonists and are due to set sail shortly. Meanwhile the king has ordered the construction of 6 colony vessels. Big enough in size to rival even the grandest of galleons, these ships have been designed to carry their passengers in safety and comfort to their new homes.

When asked if there were any dangerous creatures or hostile natives, Marus replied “Well, we did run into a few goblins and a couple of orcs, but I’m confident that the militia going over to support the new colony will be able to chase them off!”

It is planned that the first of the colony vessels will set sail no later than the 20th day of the 6th month of this year, with favourable tides at 10am, many people are expected to head down to the dock district to celebrate the departure of this grand vessel.

I shan't be going on the journey myself - I fear such an expedition would be too much for an inexperienced young un such as myself, but I shall stand on the docks and shout "huzzah" to see the bold colonists off. Bag me an orc, won't you :)

Saw that, but had no idea whether that applied to real life or not.

Can my fighter and dragon shaman and Ian's characters be brothers?

Any particular reason?
Its quite a strange question to ask really since the last I heard, Ian wasn't playing.

The Royal Herald

New Guilds Formed

In news from the new land of Pallaium, several new guilds have been established to help new colonists and settlers adjust to life in their new homes.

The guild of explorers has set up a local branch to provide would be colonists with maps, information and details about the local area. Skilled cartographers are hard at work producing documents to aid newcomers and the guild also houses the land registry offices. Of course, if anyone does set out to explore this continent, the guild will pay for any information given.

The University of Distatum is funding a new college of study in the fledgling community. Head Researcher Malkam Octain had this to say, “This new land is full of promise and the are obviously many, many areas of research and study to be covered. Of particular interest are several old ruins sighted by Marus Palla himself. I am very, very keen to start studying there”.

To help protect the newcomers, Yllvard Gannarson (formerly a captain of the royal guard) has formed the Brotherhood of Iron, a cross between a traditional mercenary guild and a standing militia. The brotherhood has offered training in the use of swords and spears as well as hunting and survival skills. Yllvard himself has requested any able-bodied adults, skilled in the arts of war present themselves and pledge their swords to defending the settlers and colonists.

Construction has begun on Pallaium’s first temple. The followers of Pelor have announced that the groundwork has been laid out for the construction of a modest temple for colonists to worship the Lord of the Sun. Whilst quarries and timber felling industries have been started, it is not clear at this time if they will be able to provide the materials necessary for the construction.

That's right, Ian isn't playing any morning games due to his hiking.

For my characters, I call Warblade and Warlock.

Can I get a definite answer as to who is in for this game and the two PCs they intend to use.
So far we have
Tanya - Warblade and Warlock
Mike - Archivist and Wu Jen
Dave (aka The Other Dave) - Wizard and Rogue
Matt - Paladin and Binder
Miguel - Fighter and Dragon Shaman.

And thats it for spaces. 5 players is plenty.

Oh, well I had claimed Warlock in the first thread!!! Its Mine I say, MINE!! ..ok, not really, Tanya can take it, haha

I should be able to make it that morning.

Looks like I'll be a half-orc Paladin of Pelor for starters, then, and then a Binder of some sort. Maybe a Halfling Binder, that ought to be fun! :ugeek:
