Are you sure? If you intend to spend that much of your cash on 5 models and THEN hack great big chunks out of them, Why not convert some cheaper plastics INTO Blood Knights and get twice as many?

Hadn't thought about the resin costs. But today I put together a list of restrictions when it comes to selecting armies, priorities and other things. It really has made me thankful that I chose to forgo my xenos species and build an imperium only army. This way I have a fairly decent selection for apocalypse. This also will let me select a more limited choices instead of splurging. Even my outrider stuff is now completely focused on just collecting a few armies (nearly one army alone for the time being actually).

Like prim, I'm going to broaden out. After my order, I have a good sized Fallshirmjager force with some flexibility and a very small start on an armored company, After reading the fluff, I am very much interested in trying warmachine (though I will limit this to one army). And I have a firestorm armada fleet. How much further I go, I don't know

Because basically, a price raise doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to spend more money, you also have the choice on getting less models.
Yes, getting 10 models for the price you used to pay for 15. I don't see how that can possibly be a good thing. Any way you look at it, you are getting less for your money.

I used to set myself a gaming budget when I bought GW stuff. That amount never changed in 5 years. But I progressively got less and less for that same amount.

Yes you are right, with price raises no matter how much we spend we will always get less for the buck/quid/crown whatever, but that is a little bit different from what I wanted to say;

If you buy let's say 20+ models a month for 10.000+ yen before the price raise (because it is so cheap and can't resist) and then after the price raise you choose to get 5 models a month for 5000 yen instead, put more effort into getting those models look good and then spend the rest 5000 yen with your family, buy a chin up bar as an investment in your health or something that matters more than toy soldiers, I wouldn't say it is such a bad deal.

All I want to say that, for me it is a good chance to rethink how I spend my hobby money. When the price is high we may rethink our priorities. When you can get tons of models from cheap places like maelstrom and wayland you might end up buying more than you were originally planning because you get it really cheap and then you end up with lots of unpainted/unfinished armies. I can tell by just being in the hobby for a few months.. I bought a lot of stuff that I shouldn't have, just gotta learn from that and go on.

Sorry for not making myself clear better the last time I posted.

Fair point mate. I am all in favour of anything that makes you re-evaluate your GW spending :)

OK, justin. Take a deep breath, and repeat after me:

SIXTY-ONE POUNDS FIFTY FOR FIVE MODELS!
If you are going to hen peck me darling, at least have the decency to marry me first. :lol:

Yes I'm well aware of the pricing. It is obscene. Of course I'd do the sensible thing and get someone from the Uk to send it over, if I ever did decide on getting them.

WELL, which cheaper plastics did you actually have in MIND? I'd convert sticks and plaster INTO Blood knights, but THEN, it would likely look like CRAP.

The models are quite nice, and I wouldn't be hacking big chunks out of them at all. A head swap here are an arm swap there is all I'm talking about.

Brettonians? Empire? Both are quite a bit cheaper than the Blood Knights, (8 knights for £20) and with closed helms, you'd never know they didn't have sharp pointy teeth.
