My problem with finecast has to do with the resin. I've worked with resin on the BF tanks, and while it is easy to paint, light and sturdy, it is terrible to have to modify. The stuff is brittle. If you file it, it turns into fine, fairly toxic dust. And it also tends to be prone to miscasts.
This seems all very unfortunate for GW games, which are all fantasy stuff and is a great deal of fun converting and modifying your figures. Resin should make this slightly more difficult. (On the bright side, there will probably be fewer "tip-and-break" accidents.)
A lot depends on the resin they use (there are 1000s of types. Did you know that PET bottles contain resin for instance, or the 'paper' sheet that they use for Niku-man in the convenience stores?) With some resins you really need to scrub them in hot water before paint will stick to them and even then its possible that paint will simply rub off. Likewise, when resin breaks, it tends to do so a lot worse than metal. Whilst I have had metal models break apart into their seperate parts, I have seen resin shatter. As I said, it all depends on what type of resin it is.

Who here can say that one day, if the model is cool enough, could think themselves buying a finecast product? Or is everyone just going to stubbornly refuse to buy finecast just because GW is a sh*tty company to them now?
Oh, I dont doubt that I will eventually get some, I know I am a total sucker for impulse buying. However, I never really liked metal and I like resin even less. My main argument against buying it is price more than my opinion about GW.
