Post by Seb » Sun May 29, 2011 3:14 pm

I dont know if this has been brought up before but does anyone know anything about Infinity?
http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/

I just stumbled upon them and thought they make awesome models!! I already ordered one.
Anyone that own infinity models got any opinions on them?

There is a search button at the top of every page you could use?

Anyway, Infinity, the models look aces. They are, model for model quite expensive, but no more so than GW or PP I feel. I've never seen more than the box art on the minis though so I have no idea as to what they look like up close. I actually just ordered some for MiggySmallz here on the forum as he wants them for RPG minis. I'll be sure to take a peak at them once they arrive.
Were you planning on starting the game or just mixing them in with your space wolves?

Minis look great, and I hear good things about the game as well.

If I was primarily a minis painter guy rather than an army collector guy I'd probably have some already, but as it stands Infinity is basically just another skirmish game that people around here don't play, heh. There are already plenty of those.

I'm trying my best.
Soon I will play EVERY GAME IN THE WORLD!!! BwahahahaHAH!!!! (Cue lightning flashes and creepy music)

I haven't seen much of the game itself, so I'm not sure what it brings to the table that any of the other games I play dont. Whilst I am sure they have written some nice rules and fluff, I haven't been exposed to much of either and would probably only get the models if I were more into painting.

Thanks Prim, I just found the search button.

I am planning on using a few as threshold agents, I could not resist. Already ordered from
Ringtail. Models like the S.A.S. would be awesome.

It's a pretty neat system by all accounts - Cutlass! (do you need the explanation point, I wonder?) seems to be taking some cues from it. There's actions and responses, and pools of action points so you can either have many of your guys all act a little or a few act a lot, that kinda jazz. Plus it uses d20s, and any excuse to break out dice besides d6's is a welcome one, heh.

Since Threshold/Strange Aeons is 1920s and the SAS are early 1940s and Infinity is set in the future I'm not entirely convinced that the models will fit in that well. I could be wrong though. :D

Image

Bowie Knife, check
Semi Automatic looking pistol, check (they had semi automatic pistols in the 1920's)
Clothing check
The model doesn't have anything that they didn't have in the 1920's so it will be alright.

Also, it would be boring if people would be too conservative with how the models look, after all it is heavily fictionised with tesla weapons and stuff in the expansions.

Fair enough then.

Lovely model, no doubts. It doesn't fit in with the look of the game though. Sure all the the equipment was available then, but not in that style.

At the end of the day though, it's your gang so do whatever you think looks cool. And it's not as if anyone would really care enough to not play you.
