From Maelstrom's news page.
Games Workshop and its associated Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Warhammer 40,000, Lord of the Rings, Citadel and Black Library products are dominating our news section at the moment, for not only do we have the unenviable pleasure of informing you of delays in the supply of their Finecast range, we must also beg your patience for it is taking longer than usual to dispatch your Games Workshop orders as well as reply to your e-mails.

Games Workshop's new Finecast range - miniatures that used to be metal, but are now spincast resin - has proved somewhat of a bugbear for the company and, thus, ourselves and our customers. Unfortunately, it appears that we are still limited to ordering only three of each item at a time - which means that we can only order three of each item per week (as Games Workshop only allow us to order from them once per week). They have not yet informed us when this restriction in ordering Finecast products will be lifted.

Thus, we must ask those of you who have ordered Finecast products to be patient, for the delay in sending them has been incurred through no fault of our own. We will of course split any orders that have Finecast products and other items and send those as soon as we can, and your Finecast products will follow as soon as we can get our hands on them.

As well as the above, we must also ask all of our customers - even those that have not ordered Finecast products - to be patient for we are experiencing a heavy backlog of orders thanks to the Games Workshop sale. This has, of course, led to an inordinate amount of customer e-mails to answer, which is taking its time to work through.

We appreciate this is not good news, for we do not like any of our customers to experience delays and customer service is our number one priority, but - to be frank - the sheer amount of orders created in May has exceeded all records and we will need an extra few days to complete them and answer e-mails. We also appreciate that this message could have been delivered to you before now, but we were not told about the restrictions not being lifted on Finecast until yesterday.

We appreciate your understanding and hope that you will continue to enjoy our great service, prices and knowledge in the future.

And on Wayland.
Hi all, as you can no doubt imagine with GW's announced terms and price changes this has been a somewhat busy week here at Wayland HQ. Whilst we continue to throw every possible available resource at getting your orders out as fast as we possibly can the rate of orders we are recieveing has created a backlog. Please be assured that we are doing all we possibly can to keep this backlog to a minimum and it would help us greatly and expedite orders if helpdesk tickets regarding the status of orders could be avoided where possible.

Many thanks

fair enough. Between the two of them, they are supplying the entire rest of the world with their final dose of GW minis. I can see that taking a while. just as well I aint in a hurry...

and seriously? 3 copies of any given finecast mini FOR SUPPLIERS in a WEEK? huh? 3 per customer, yes, OK, I can see that, but 3 per shop? thats just dumbass. Never, ever, have I seen a company shoot itself so badly in the foot.

GW will no doubt have a fine quarterly statement this time around. Ooh. Lookit the tremendous sales we done got. And Im sure the numbers are mighty indeed. All hail the mighty finecast - the customers are lapping it up.

But wait! What shite through yonder window breaks?

Next quarter, profits are DOOOOoooooooooowwwn. Wheredevrybody go? You mean, all those sales we made last quarter werent to loyal customers? What? You LEFT US? well, we're just going to have to raise prices again to cover the loss. Whats that? you dont care cos now youre playing warmachine? We dont believe you. thats impossible. There are no other games.

Matron!

Thus a once great company bites the dust. :?

I like the part where in the 2 weeks before the embargo Maelstrom took more GW orders than they EVER had before.
... the sheer amount of orders created in May has exceeded all records ...
But yeah, 3 finecast models per shop is crazy stupid. :D

It fills me with such joy to read through the ever growing ocean of anti GW stuff floating around now (not that it wasn't there before).

They really do seem intent of anally raping themselves into bankruptcy.

I dont think they can do that. Everything they've done recently seems half-arsed and I guess to achieve what you're suggesting they would need the full thing?
