Don't your Fallshirmjager, mortars, art, Pak40s, and neblewerfers transfer over? I think you would just need some kind of armored option or a third Fallschirmjager. I think your Fallshirmjager force is nicely set up to expand into all eras. :)

Most game in MW are around 1500. 1750 is often the maximum because some lists can hardly put that much of the table. Take the US paratroopers as an example. They pretty much max out at 1750 after taking tanks and a full complement of artillery.

north africa, only my heavy mortars and HMG transfer over. The boys went in without most of their gear and what they had was light like PaK36s. Later I get a better range of options but armor doesn't transfer over so I'm still on the light side of things.

This is the problem with Fallschirmjager, they were everywhere and in many cases thrown into the fray with what they had creating a wide variety of equipment issues if you want to collect for all list choices. As a side note, for Eastern Front mid-war I can field 1640.

Yeah, most airborne armies are limited on the support side and have expensive troops. Of course that is the trade off. Tough as nails infantry for the challenge of fighting with less heavy equipment.

It seems to vary a lot. Winter front, Tunisia/Sicily and Fortress Europe, good support. Earth and Steel, 6.Regiment has better armor while 2. Division had good artillery. North Africa is by far the most limited. It can also depend on where each weapon option is. Heavy mortars might be regimental support or it might wind up under divisional with the artillery.

Hmmm... another good reason to start a new army, less lists to look up

well I did have fun with the konigstiger last week  I got two more to go and after gluing together all these artillery pieces, some tanks sound like fun. As a bonus, it'd be a cheap list to build.

Actually, I just thought it was ironic that the one thing Pikey thinks is over powered ended up being attatched to my Fallschirmjager. Also thought it was ironic as I plan on doing a leichte panzerkompanie for early war.

KTs are a pain in the butt (or actually they do a bit more then that) to Allied tankers, but really, they aren't that impressive. They tend to be way to expensive and really are a challenge to the player then the opponent.
Tigers are far more impressive. To a Western tank player, shermans and such, they can make your day. Particularly Americans have trouble matching up between tanks. Still, I wouldn't call anything over-powered, but some match-ups are better then others.

I said fun, not tactical advantage  If it wasn't for your pesky artillery I would have held out much better. Next time, artillery duel at 2,000 meters ;)

Looks like Pikey got his wish. Well sort of. New early war book coming out called Hellfire and Back covering the early war in the desert.
