Re: July painting thread
The buzz cut look on the infinity model is really good man... how did you do that?

It's really simple. Mix some grey in with the flesh tone and carefully apply it to the head. (The model is meant to be bald). The Warmahordes Mechanik on the right has the same technique applied in a "Picard" style, though its not really visible in the picture.Admiral-Badruck wrote:The buzz cut look on the infinity model is really good man... how did you do that?
I also use the same trick for stubble.

You could also use a brown shade as well, or even do two or three layers if you want it to look really rugged.

Re: July painting thread
i second badrucks comment on the stubble effect. Its absolutely bang-on. I must try that next time I paint a bald bloke. Probly not an eldar tho. They dont really do...stubble. (but on an exodite...hmmmmmnnnnn.)

Re: July painting thread
Not such a great picture, but here's my first foray into FoW:

Clearly I need to work on my static grass technique (tonight's lesson learned: don't try to apply static grass in a room with a fan running), but aside from that I'm pretty pleased. They paint up nicely! At this rate, I should have my first platoon done in time to order a second with my August paycheck. (knock on wood, of course)

Looking good TOD. I can't wait to meet them on the tabletop.

I'd also recommend against leaving the window open. The Other Dave wrote:tonight's lesson learned: don't try to apply static grass in a room with a fan running

Part of the long journey that is my Hawk Lord's wood elf army.
