I think its because they are pointing in a different direction to the natural 'flow' of the model. Everything else (helm, back thingie, leg spikes etc) are pointing up the body, whilst those are pointing forward. Perhaps if they were more like mandibles, they'd be ok as the helmet does kind of jut forward at the bottom. As it is, they interrupt the lines of the model.
This is all just my opinion as an amateur model painter/converter.
Regardless, the paint job is aces.

Agree with Prim on all that he said:

- the horns go against the 'flow' of the model.
- would love to see how they might look as mandibles
- AWESOME paint job...though I am judging it by my current level of expertise... :D

MiJ I will have to get some lessons from you sometime soon!

Sorry, I can't agree with the guys above. While I can see their reasoning against "flow" and such, I am too much of a fan of customization to criticize a person for adding some personal touches. I like the silhouette from the front anyway. ;)

tbh, I hadnt really considered flow when I was thinking about how to make him look "klaivexy". Its a good point though. Its feedback like this that leads to better conversions in the future. Point noted chaps - next time, I shall consider flow. And possible feng shui, too :D

Been some months since I painted anything.

Image

This is for representing myself (character) in my Strange Aeons agent list. Double Mauser C96s baby!
As always, taken with the only iPhone camera I have so it is hard to tell the details.
Next I will be painting my other agents and lurkers.

It looks good from here and will look good on the tabletop too. Your iPhone seems to take reasonable pictures.

Thanks! I really hope that I have.
