A tabletop Golden Daemon and Crystal Brush winners frequent perhaps. That is so far beyond normal "Tabletop Level" its not even funny. I mean, have you even looked at the minis other people put down?

Very, very nice as usual.

My own humble offerings, painted to a REAL tabletop standard achievable by mere mortals.
First off, an Infinity figure I painted up for Miggy Smallz for one of our RPG group. To be honest, I couldnt find anything in the mini that 'clicked' for me as I was painting and of the 4 models I was asked to do, this got left till last.

The shading on the back came out quite nicely I felt, but overall I have to admit I'm not that happy with it.

Next up, we have Markus, an enhanced gorilla character for Dust Tactics. I got the Operation Seelowe boxed set earlier in the week and after seeing this guy spent a couple of hours painting him up on Friday (yes M_i_J, thats a couple of hours from start to finish, not just for one toenail  ).

Finally, I got my second squad of British Infantry done for my fledgling Napoloenic Army. They still need to be based properly, but the majority of the work, ie the Red and White uniforms, is done.

And thats all from me so far. :D

@Prim - nice paint job on that red bird's bum. Also, those red coated chappies are going to look lovely en masse. Job's a good un, as they say.

@ Voss - Huzzah! Warjacks on a painty thread. Gives me a warm glowy feeling inside :D Nice job on em, too. If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, a lick of Baal red all over the red bits would do em a lot of shadowy good, and if you were to carefully put some Devlan mud around the rivets (even the red ones) itd make it all pop a lot more. Just my two yennies worth - feel free to disregard :)

As for me, I have been painting, but I've jumped ship and started posting on another website. *hangs head in shame* If anybody cares, my WIP is here:

Of course, all finished minis will posted here. Don't you worry - I know where my true loyalties lie :)

Actually they do have Baal Red on them.Don't know why the recesses didn't deepen more than they did. Maybe a second coat. And I'll look into the mud idea.

Blue or Green are good for shading red if you want a dark tone. Baal Red is far too light to provide much shadow over Mechrite Red (I'm guessing that you just used the foundation paint). Devlan Mud is of course awesome for everything. :D

I'll keep in mind. The juggers axe has a nice shading of blue that comes out if you look at it right. sort of went well with the ice part I thought.

And yeah, I went with Merchite. I think next time I will base with scab just to get a deeper color in the recess. I didn't want my jacks to be too brightly colored red. I've already got two other red armies. Oy, what is it with me and red.

Not happy with the face. My elf flesh has gone all thick on me but for the most part it looks good. The difference between the character and the jacks is how I wanted it to come out. Keep the jacks darker and more brooding while the caster gets the brighter color red. Adds a nice contrast I think.

I learned this fairly recently, but if you want a mini to look dark and brooding it helps a lot to have some very bright highlights on it. Right up to white, if you can. The contrast makes everything else look darker by comparison.
