Seconded. The other one is very well painted, but it's difficult to make out the details. Rusto's on the other hand is pure awesome with a topping of win.

Sorry M_i_J.

Oooh, I'm liking those treekin a lot. Nice use of orange and grey. One of my fave colour combos, that is.

Re: Rusto - yeah. *shrug* Whacha gonna do? It's like going for a kickabout down the park with your mates then ronaldo turns up and wants to play. The dude just churns out phenomenal mini after phenomenal mini. Take a shufty at his gallery if you ever feel the need to cry softly into your paintbrushes.

That said, I actually prefer Skel's ork. I like skel's style (verra dark, always), and rusto's one has a couple of points that clang for me (to whit : the foot of the pigsquig that isnt sitting on the ground very well, and the base itself which looks a bit tatty. Still, I nitpick, I know...)

Not keen on the first one, the dok. The pose and colour choices mean I can't quite see what's going on - I had to look again to see its face. The base is too busy, too. Bet I'd get flamed for giving it a 7, though.

The second one is nice, although the drool isn't positioned properly. And what's going on with that backpack?

Both of them are rather ... drab, I suppose is the word. Rusted metal and faded colours. I like my orks BRIGHT! :)

Also, I have no idea who these people are.

pah! philistine! :P

SkelletetS is the bloke that got 1st place 40k unit and 2nd place unit in the german GD this year. (http://demonwinner.free.fr/peintre.php?id_peintre=1797) . Personally speaking, he's been nice enough to advise me on a couple of points on my painting, and done so in a very non-patronising manner. When GD winners comment on my li'l WIP thread, I lissen up gooood.

Rusto is an italian. He's won more GDs than you can shake a stick at (http://demonwinner.free.fr/peintre.php?id_peintre=446) . Look at his gallery on CMoN for some of the bestest best minis in the world. In my opinion the only painter who compares is YellowOne (who you probably don't know either  )

I'm pretty sure you just overtook me in WMH minis painted  (I'm on 4 witches, 6 bile thralls, 4 mech thralls, and a small 'jack. Oh, and the egregore, but he's an inanimate floating orb of evil, and probly doesnt count.)

Also...

huzzah! I think I'm finished my ork! I'll be working on the photos (and any last minute changes folks (and I) deem necessary.) As you can see I'm posting this at 3:20am, so I shall be sleeping late tomorrow, so any advice given in the morning will be read and possibly followed (within reason).

cheers, all, for any input you may have :)

Don't roll your eyes at me like that. Next thing you'll be trying to convince me they're important. Get back to me when they have a show at the National Gallery. ;)

As for brightly-coloured Orks being wrong, so be it. I'd rather be wrong than drab. :)

Looks good overall MiJ. My only thought is the guns rust looks too uniform.

And so far I only have 8 minis painted. I'll overtake you after my next unit comes me thinks.

And we are finished. Now maybe someday I will get a chance to use something besides a cellphone camera.

So the next question is what is next.

And definitely my next army will NOT be red! :?
