Re: Arts reform club. Ash's house. Jan.

Regular (and irregular) events in the Nagoya area can be posted up here. If you want to get your gaming fix, this is the place to look first.

I'm up for playing anything in the afternoon, but I'll have to use someone else's Blood Bowl or Space Hulk models.

Ash, could you post a working Google Map links? The one on your website is truncated for some reason, and without it I won't find the place. :)

@TK - check your PMs. I sent you my ketai info.

you can search for Tsu Miyako Hotel, as it's the same building. Google maps has a rather scary street view photo navigation thingy so you can actually see the front door from street level if you zoom in close enough...

It's walkable from the station, btw. go out the east exit and go straight down the street towards route 23 (the major highway in Mie). Once you get to R23, turn right and walk along it. When you get to the Central Post Office (a biggish building, should take about 15-20 mins) look across R23. You will see center palace in front of you. Cross the street at the traffic lights, as drivers in Mie are mental and anybody who jaywalks across 23 is liable to get smeared over a fairly sizeable stretch of road. I have no idea what meeting room we're in, but take the elevator just inside the door up to the 2nd floor and listen at meeting room doorways until you hear the sounds of foreign laughter :D

A big thank you to Ash, Tenorikuma and the ever-reliable Satoru for a nice relaxed day of gaming and painting today. In the morning we all just chilled out and painted stuff (Ten did his elven horsies, Ash and Satoru did Ash's Dreadfleet, and I noodled about highlighting a banshee's armour.)

In the afternoon we played Blood Bowl, with my Dark Elves taking on Ten's Lizardmen (actually mine), while Ash's bunny girls took on Satoru's human team. I have to thank Tenorikuma for a great game, as he picked up the rules (and indeed, their nuances) very quickly, so I really had to work to get anything out of the game. The first half actually finished 1-0 to him, and by that point I had stopped playing nice  The game finished 2-1 to me, but the last 4 turns or so were a shambolic mess, with both of our teams hell bent on screwing up every single dice roll required of them. This ranged from my team (two or three times!) failing the first roll required of them in a turn (e.g. dodge, 2+. Fail.) to his final throw of the dice, where all he needed was a 3+ for a skink to pick up the ball and score a touchdown. Nope.

So, thanks to all - we should definitely do this again :)

Thanks to Ash, MiJ and Satoru for a day of hobby and gaming. MiJ was nice enough to teach me Blood Bowl and lend me his Lizardmen squad. I swear both of our teams were pissed drunk on the field those last four turns or so.

Thanks to MIJ, Satarou and Tenorikuma for a good day of painting and blood bowl. A few pics here but you probably have your own too. I particuarly enjoyed the painting side of the day. Next time maybe do the same and play 40k and Blood Bowl in the afternoon. Thanks for making the trip down Ten, good to meet you too :D Welcome to the Jungle.

Have they added some Street View data to Tsu, then? Last time I tried to stare in your windows, there was no imagery. :) I mean, even Antarctica has better coverage.

@AGP - Yeah I was wondering when they would get around to photgraphing Tsu. Have you tried Nagoya and Osaka and other big cities. Either they haven't got around to doing it here or it's a Japanese privacy thing. They are big on privacy over here. I don't know. :)
They have youtube and still photolinks on the googlemaps of Tsu. When you zoom in on my apartment it's just a rectangle. is it really there? :o
