Fortunately, it looks like I'm free in the afternoon - things got busy! Do you want to put a list together, or should I bring one for you?job wrote:@ToD: Could I play some Epic too? I've got FOW in the morning, but in the afternoon I'm looking for a game.

How about the alternate Cadian list? Do you think it has enough mobility?

Looked fine, I think! I'll get you set up for that, then. Did you want to use Basilisks or Manticores for the artillery?job wrote:How about the alternate Cadian list? Do you think it has enough mobility?

Are you going to be there in the morning? I was wanting to play some other stuff in the afternoon.Konrad wrote:I found the scenario and printed it out. @ Job, The Red Devils are ready to go, please bring the Shermans so I can upgrade my 700 points to 1000, I haven't had time to assemble and paint the machine gun units. Thanks

Cooling down now after much angsting. Before things get out of hand I would like to put things in perspective on the wargames front, or at least how I see things.
Many of you I have spoken with, myself included really enjoy the hobby. Painting, gaming, collecting etc
But we have all had those days or games where we walk away thinking why bother. This might not just be because we have lost. It might be argumanets about rules, differences of opinion on how units and armies should be put together, how somthing was painted or just the game did not go smoothly and wasn't enjoyable. I remember going to my first NH with the Ultramarines and being told they were too dark a shade of blue. Naturally I made my Prussians a too light a shade but that's by the by. At that time I wasn't bothered by others opinions and 'advice' as it were and took it all in my stride, enjoying the hobby meeting new folks and playing lots of fantastic games and genearlly having a great time.
For me winning was never important, I think that's why I have only ever won a handful of wargames against the Nagoya and Mie players. Usually I draw or lose.
Then someting happened, last year or maybe earlier the constant pissing contests and game losses, extra rules to be learned finickety and boxes to tick began to take their toll on my patience. I have mentioned how I wanted to stop posting even on the forum as every time I went on there it just wound me up with all the back biting and scrobbling.
Any sane man would say enough is enough, I'm too old for toys and games time to move one. But, I love the hobby too much. The reason I come back for more is for every 5 bad games there is always a memorable 6th game where the mood and game was right.
Saturday should be a blast and I intend to get the most out of it. I'm up against Prim and Badruck for Black Powder game. War is unbalanced always so it really doesn't matter if I win or lose so I am going to just try and enjoy it. Prim and Badruck are famous for their strong competative streak so I will give as as good as I'm given and bring the pain and play as competative as I can. Otherwise no fun for them either right.
Sorry folks, somewhere along the line I seem to have lost all perspective to what the attraction to these games are. I still enjoy the painting but I will try to relax and get what I can from the games.
Anyway not sure if you folks even care what I say and do on here anymore after some of the outbursts but I hope you all have a good year of gaming and look forward to seeing you soon.

I really want to join tomorrow as planned but recent arguments have got me thinking twice. I've deleted said offensive mail from earlier regarding scenarios etc.
My apologies go to Prim for slagging off his hard work at preparing these events. None of my comments were meant as personal front to character.
Also to anyone else who I have upset in the past I ask your pardon. Apparently I have expressed religious views that have upset people as well as called people out for being racisit. This was never my intention and rather than having to apologise for simply everything said or done in the past I think it's time to say thanks for the memories and turn over a new leaf. Thanks for all the great events these past two years and rather than bitch and moan anymore you have my respect. Completely 100 percent.

Hey Ash, no worries man. Will you be there on Sunday? If not, let me know if you're up for some laid back games like dystopian wars or strange aeon or whatever. I'm always up for a fun and beer/pretzel sort of game.ashmie wrote:Cooling down now after much angsting.
