Leaked 6th Ed Rules?

This link was posted over at Librarium Online, not sure how accurate it is, but it does seem the most believable regarding the leak!
It makes me sad that it sounds like Tau also might not get a new codex this year...I'm hoping someone can confirm if it'll hit before 6th!

Re: Leaked 6th Ed Rules?
It is looking unlikely that Tau will get a new book anytime soon. Dark Angels are the current favourites. None of the current codex entries should be invalidated though.

Re: Leaked 6th Ed Rules?
Tau players deserve a new codex, and I'd love to see what can be done with new Tau models. Yeah, dark angels are very dated, but DA players can at least use the marine dex to tide themselves over. tau ain't had nuffink for ages (forge world excepted. FW love them their Tau...)

Since when do GW update books according to any reasonable schedule?me_in_japan wrote:Tau players deserve a new codex, and I'd love to see what can be done with new Tau models. Tau do not need a new dex the current one is fine if you do not mind winning. If the leaked rules hold true then tau will get serious bump in power.

Re: Leaked 6th Ed Rules?
I haven't read the leaked rules thoroughly, but that article there says that the assault phase is before the shooting phase. How is that good for the Tau?
And anyway - the tau dex is not OK at the mo. it's tiny. They have very few troops, zero CC ability, and there ain't even the option for a kroot only list. No gnarlocs. No tetras. In fact, none of that cool FW stuff that should've been in there from day 1. The current Tau dex is actually half a dex masquerading as a playable army. The Tau have the potential to be a super cool looking, stylish, and (potentially) strong army. Right now they t least look pretty nifty, but they shoot like guardsmen, fight like grots and are about as hard to kill as the average eldar.

Re: Leaked 6th Ed Rules?
Actually it´s better than it looks at first. Your FW or Kroot got into hand to hand with the mince marines. With the current turn order, nobody can shoot the marines, then the FW die. If you flip over the turns, the FW try to hurt the marines and fail, then the rest of the army shoots the now exposed marines to hell and back.me_in_japan wrote:I haven't read the leaked rules thoroughly, but that article there says that the assault phase is before the shooting phase. Re: Leaked 6th Ed Rules?
The humans aux are chapter approved and are thus tecnikly league. Yes but if someone wants to play with the FW truthfully who is going to tell you no you can't use the conventional forge world units in a friendly game. Hell I have never told anyone no to any units that are FW. And the only one who says no is Prime.me_in_japan wrote:I haven't read the leaked rules thoroughly, but that article there says that the assault phase is before the shooting phase. Re: Leaked 6th Ed Rules?
Only because no-one wants Dreadnoughts assaulting out of drop pods on turn 1. Well, actually the marine players DO want that, but no-one else does.Admiral-Badruck wrote:Yes but if someone wants to play with the FW truthfully who is going to tell you no you can't use the conventional forge world units in a friendly game. To his credit it is only when he is running a tournament.

The Tau codex is what it is and at some stage it will be updated. Maybe this year, maybe next. When it is updated it will be awesome, so look at it like an investment.
