Various reflections on the new empire book by members of warhammer-empire.com

"I promise you, my next modeling project is a portrait of Cruddage trampled underfoot by my infantry."

"Cruddified"

"eat a d!ck crudface"

I for one, look forward to reading it with relish.

That's a fairly positive response for a new armybook/codex.
What exactly is wrong with it? Too balanced? Not enough cheese? Or is it like Codex Nids where you have to rip the arms off all your models and replace them?

hmmm from what I can gather, points increases for all infantry, dettachments don't get supporting charges? (dunno about that) . Nerfs to warmachines and significant points increases. Mortar is S2 pie plate with armour piercing, instead on S3 pie plate. Flaggelants got crippled among other things.

Some of these changes I think are quite sensible like the mortar nerf. So now they don't massacre elves/goblins/T3 hordes. BS shooting troops and other warmachines receiving a huge price hike is kind of fair, seeing as what warmachines can do. So I think GW is trying to move people away from the socially ostracizing, remorseless gunline tactics that used to be commonplace.

Witch hunter is pretty cool though with a sniper killing blow pistol.

I'll need a few games first to really gauge reactions/overreactions. But before that I need to paint, and even before that I need to move house.

Yon hot pot is ancient. I remember it from my warhammer playing days, and that was a goodly long time ago.

that hotpot was the first model I ever bought back in 93. Good to see it back, too them long enough.

Overall, I feel that the Empire is an easy to change army. Not really into the new models though a fully painted empire army across the table would be cool to see with them in it.

Also those demi-griffons make me wonder what will happen to the Brettonians
