Ok, for a starter:
Techniques
Non Metal Metal, aka NMM, aka nomnomnom

Object Source Lighting, aka OSL (we do love our acronyms, don't we?
http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Zenit ... rey_Knight
Now, the above tut is largely about airbrushing a grey knight (and nicely done it is, too) but the bit around step 6 is a good illustration of how to OSL eyes and suchlike. Note the eye itself is almost white with just a tint of colour, and that teh light on the surrounding helm fades away to nothing very fast.
This one is waaaaay technical, but it all depends on how your brain works. If this one does it for ya, then all to the good. If, like me, it melts your brain, then fine, ignore it, move on

Massive Voodoo have a number of excellent articles about pretty much most everything, but particular attention should be paid to anything Jarhead says about basing, for lo, he is bloody good at it.

Finally, here is the articles index of CMoN. More knowledge than any mortal man really needs, tbh...
