Sounds like you got yourself quite a deal there.

The 'to paint box' has finally been opened afte a 5 month break and it's good to be back. Started off with the first coat of green for my remaining FoW army. Mortars and machine gun units. Also this objectve marker should be fun to paint. A group of Brits standing around a jeep drinking tea wondering what to do next.

I could use it as a command HQ stand also based on Longest Day. Sean Connery and the tea drinking dilemma. ;)

Made good progress on my FoW guys tonight. They are a bit of a Monet effort with splashes of colour to create an imopression rather than fine detail but I think it would drive me mad to spend any more time on them. I bought them 2 years ago. All done now just need a bit of flock. Hooray.

The Sean Connery thing is from A Bridge Too Far actually. Mr. Connery is in command of the Paras sent to capture Arnhem, but him and his boys end up in the wrong place with busted radio equipment.
Very good movie.

Sorry yes Bridge too far is what I meant. Sean is in the Longest day also. :D

Had a very productive evening hobby wise today. Finally got my FoW army finished after two years of procrastinating painting them. All in all the actual painting probably was less than two weeks, it's just because the scale was so small I put it off but it takes little time to get them to tabletop level. I may go back and paint in the detail when I pass my next eye test and get a good pair of glasses.

Went for a run and managed 40 minutes tonight with 2 minutes walking/2minutes running intervals.

After that I found the Savage Orc bits that Admiral needs. Posting tomorrow.

Job, Mike and Colonel please let me know about formations, I have the army book but they may be a bit disordered in this layout. :)

Right, another army done. ;) What's next? Lots of bit and bobs in the to paint box and hopefully after that Pike and Shotte. Not here yet though thankfully. Breathing time.

Looking good there Ash mate. I can't wait to see them in action.

BTW what army book/army list do you have for them? It's just there were some changes (mainly points costs) when they released the D-day compilations last year. Don't worry, BF is not GW so it doesn't invalidate your list or anything but you might be able to squeeze in a few more goodies if you had the latest list (nod nod wink wink say no more Guv') ;)

Also, did I ever give you your free copy of the 3rd Edition rules?

Thanks Mike and Prim. Doh, more purchases? Another book to buy?
I might be buying Prims Northerners from him so I could double my forces hopefully. Fancy having a big scrap in September, either in Tsu or Toyohashi? I think Job was keen to have a doubles game. We could play at Joshin if we have enough oxygen masks. September Flames? :)

On Friday MIJ and I played a game of Dungeon World or an amalgamation of some old rpg rules that Moyashimaru cooked up. I was inspired to paint the models we were using. On the right is a thieving elf called Litharial or something and on the left is Sir John a noble night on a quest for a noble deed. Sadly he drowned in a vat of slime. Yuck.

I'm going to paint the rest of my minis for rpg this week. Perhaps a diorama or two.

Anyone want a break from fantasy or sci-fi, I recommend a good tank as a summer project. Tamiya Churchill MK VII 1943. Very fun to put together. It looks worse than this now as I over painted it and the anti shine went all white on me. Luckily I can pass it off as old winter white wash look that's worn off. :)
