Perhaps the biggest reason my wife has zero interest in 40k is that none of the models are 'pretty', in her opinion. Of course, my playing orks does not help, but she has a point.

I've mentioned that eldar are elves, or that she could play Warhammer Fantasy as actual elves, but she has yet to bite.
Perhaps if someone is showing off a beautifully painted army on a day when she happens to tag along, but that essentially means 'perhaps if the stars align just right.'

Rather than try to persuade her to play, if she's artistically inclined you could ask her to pick out a single mini that she might like to paint. Her interest could build from there. If not, then fair enough - this miniature painting malarkey ain't for everyone, after all :)

She paints the Japanese resin garage kits of anime characters. It helps because we can share paints and modeling equipment.
The Warhammer minis are a lot smaller than the things she normally does, and right now she has little interest in things that aren't Sailor Moon. I'll still make the occasional attempt though.

Both Tenorikuma and I have painted Wood Elves with pretty horses. If she is coming we can bring them along :D Not that we are in any way girly mind you. That's the High Elves :D ;)
