Guess what I just got in my mailbox? :)

@Prim - If I where in your shoes I would throw in an order for hurricane season into my next order from maelstrom/wayland, I like it.
If anyone played DW locally, I might consider it.

So wait, they're promising full support for 10mm and 15mm and 28mm? For (presumably) all 6 of the core Firestorm Armada races? Pictures, nice as they are, of half a dozen unit types at one of those scales doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that they'll be able to come through with support for such a - well, I'll be polite and call it an optimistic plan.

Edit to add: I don't really doubt they'll be able to design and produce the models - they seem to be quite prolific on that front, especially with vehicles what with CAD and resin casting. But I'm kind of partial to companies that take time to make sure they're producing good games.

(Also, and of course I would, but I think 10mm and 15mm aren't nearly distinguished enough in scale to justify saying a 10mm scale game and a 15mm scale game will play any differently. But that's mostly because I'd selfishly like more sources of 1:300 sci-fi buildings.)
Pretty much agree with all of that.

I would imagine 10mm and 15mm are pretty similar. I would also imagine that 6mm and 10mm are pretty close too.

I reckon that a 28mm, a 10mm or 6mm, and whatever scale U.S is would make more sense.

The naval games are about 1/600 scale I think, 3mm or so. Personally I think that is fine for things the size of ships, I wouldn't want to bother with infantry much at that point. :?
6mm - 15mm - 28mm would give you a reason to vary the scales a bit. 10 - 15mm isn't much of a jump. Still kind of small for basing minis individually, still not quite big enough a change to merit a different game. I wonder why they changed from 6mm.

Looking at their models, there are some VERY nice looking pieces in there (can't fault them for style).
Being a tread-head, I would love to see these tanks in 28mm.

And yes, Uncharted Seas rocks hard. :D

Well, I know the Dropzone Commander guy chose 10mm because 6mm was a bit too small for his CAD design methods to provide good detail - since Spartan relies heavily on CAD, I wouldn't be surprised if the reasoning was similar, especially if the rumors I first heard (that the different scales were the same CAD designs produced at different sizes) are true. If Spartan can design cool 3mm vehicles (DW / US), 6mm should be within their abilities.

Thinking of it, since Spartan does do so much 3mm stuff, a 3mm / 15mm / 28mm split for the Firestorm games would be extremely clever, assuming they didn't mind thinking up stupidly huge war engines to use, heh. Sort of a "super-Epic" scale, a FoW platoon-level scale, and a "heroic" scale split.

I keep thinking of getting a DW starter set just to paint up, but there's just so much other stuff on my plate. The Russian land units look dang cool.

We can be a bunch of Negative Nellies at times, can't we? I agree with Prim - the models are certainly nice, and I'm rooting for Spartan to create a great game to support them! Let us know if you hear anything about the rules. (Have Spartan ever put out any 28mm rulesets, or is this new ground for them?)

Very pretty stuff. Love the cyber Prussian and the jet pack chick and those tanks will be awesome sandwiched between two slices of awesomness. I just don't have the time, money or energy for another 28mm game. That Dystopian Wars game looks cool. Zepplins! Giant robots! Epic steampunkery!
