Space Hulk Boardgame/Returning to WH gaming!

Post by KJS_1066 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 11:41 am

Hello all,

This is my first post here, great to find a gaming group in Nagoya where I'm based!

A friend and I are really looking into getting back into Warhammer gaming, collecting armies, painting them up, etc etc after a lengthy interlude. Any enthusiasts based in and around Nagoya, please feel free to contact me: kuroshshadmand62@hotmail.co.uk

Am interested in resuming WH Fantasy (6th ed, maybe), WH 40K, roleplaying and any other associated games I've yet to try.

But first things first: looking to break back into it with a gentle game of Space Hulk - figure you can't beat a bit of Terminator - Stealer one on one. But...struggling to find anywhere that sells the game in Japan. Have sent a few inquiries to parties selling on e-bay UK, but the shipping is going to be extreme!

Am aware of the Osakan Iconoclasm store, which I'll be calling asap to see if they can sort me out.

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Cheers!

KJ

Hello KJ and welcome to the forum.

It might be best not to post your email address in a public forum, but there is no shortage of Wargames players around here. Check out the Game/Group Finder section of the site to get the info you need for the monthly events held in Kamimaezu. The NagoyaHammer Events section is for bigger, annual events. Coming up soon we have a Fantasy Tournament in Nagoya.

Feel free to jump into any threads that interest you, or start some new ones to discuss your return to gaming.

Regards,
P.

Welcome to the forum. I'm still a relative newbie working n my first fantasy and 40k armies. If your weekends are free, there's some kind of gaming going on at least a few times a month.

Hello, welcome. We have 3 copies of Space Hulk down in Tsu if you ever want a game let me know and I'll put on a Space Hulk day like we had a few years ago. Better still come to the all analog games weekend on the 20th and 21st of October and I'll bring it along.
For ordering stuff check out Town Crier in Nagoya, near Joshin in Kamemaezu. Like the Iconclasm in Osaka it's mainly open on weekends after midday. Happy shopping.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Howdy :) welcome to the forums and all that. Re: gaming - you should have no trouble getting a game in Nagoya. Plenty of folks there are pretty keen gamers. As Ash mentioned, there are also some gamers down here in Tsu who like a bit o space hulk action from time to time. Sadly my copy has been sitting largely unused since I got it. I'd love to play more, but just haven't had the time. Still, I can hope :)

Popular games round here are 40k (6th ed has seen a bit of a renaissance) and warmachine/hordes are also perrenial favourites. But, there's a good mix of other stuff. Warhammer Fantasy is big, flames of war has a following, and other historical stuff is starting to take off, too. (Prim likes his historical, but then prim plays everything... )

Anyway, by all means join in with any chat that takes your fancy, and don't be perturbed if we seem to argue a bit - we all know each other (mostly) in real life, and get on pretty well. :)

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Thanks for the all the replies and the welcome!

I'm looking forward to participating in some of your events, which look excellent fun, keeping an eye out for events in Kamimaezu and heading down Joshin Kid's Land way when the time is right - will have a scout sometime this week so that I know where it is. Will try to spot Town Crier too - Ashmie you say it stocks models - WH Fantasy and 40K? How are the prices and selection (suspect I'm in for a bit of a nasty shock re the former..?)

Am up for the all analog games day in October (Ashmie, please do bring a Space Hulk box!) and also the event on Sep 29th arranged by Admiral. Thanks for now guys.

Hey, welcome aboard Naghammer. I've got 1st ed Space Hulk, a full set of semi painted termis and most (enough) bugs. Space Hulk is a lot of fun. I'd be happy to bring it to the next Joshin game day.
