I got some new models painted up that I'm quite pleased with, so I thought I'd share.

Lovely work! Also vg photos, as tod said. Are those decals on the shoulders?

Also, what light set up do you use? The pics are very clear and well lit. I always struggle with lights...

Yeah, for the squad emblem (right shoulder) I used the wolf's head from the GW Space Wolves decal sheet, and for the company emblem (left shoulder), I used Forgeworld decals. Plus some rune decals on the knee guards. They came out almost perfectly.

I have a little photo tent from Bic Camera with some desk lamps on either side as makeshift lighting. It's not bright enough, though. Exposures take about a second and aren't as crisp as I'd like. But good lights are expensive.

This forum is full of people I wish I could paint like. Maybe time to hit those painting tutorials. I've got a style as such as far as getting paint on the models. Let's call it drunk John Blanche for now. As for getting them looking that nice I need to spend more time like I used to before I gamed with them.
Well done Ten

A lot of it is precise paintwork and neatness wouldnt you say? More highlights less dry brushing I'm quite a fan of.

Very cool. Amazing work with the melding of those blue colors. I really get a frosty feel from them (which is really nice to think of a muggy Sept day. :D )
