@Prim: I can't really understand your fascination with the Heresy, especially in gaming terms.

Vanilla Marines vs. Naughty Vanilla Marines + No real differences in weapons/tactics/tricksy whatsits
= yawn city.

Possible appearance of Primarchs on the tabletop = mildly interesting, once.

Why get all excited about someone else's fluff and new/old helmet/armour variants? IMHO it's much more fun to come up with your own chapter/background/characters etc.

Hmmm...dragon looks a bit better in that pic; I can see they are going for a totally warp-altered Hellblade look (the wings are identical to a Hellblade).

Personally, those marines look like the same Chaos Marine models we have no, except the Lord/champion in standing on the rubble. Perhaps this is a new metal/finecast mini. The other painted marine models are from DV.

Oh, suddenly we have Chaplains and Techmarines in every Chaos army! Hmmm...no comment for now.

That Zoid-fiend thing is huge! It`s way in the background and still dwarfs the marine models in the foreground. Maybe it`s Defiler-sized or bigger!

The more I look at the new Raptors, the more I think the look like the old Raptors, but without the kite-styled jump packs. The poses are awkward and look less like flying/jumping and more like disco dancing.

My two yen.

I second Mike the Pike`s sentiments. I`m not really getting excited about Warhammer 30K. By actually making stats for the Primarchs, GW will be ruining any sort of mystique they had. Instead, thy will eaither be insanely powerful on the battlefield(wich equals anti-fun) or they will be killable and when deployed in Apocalypse they will be taken out by Turbolaser shots and Demolisher shells, followed by gloats or "I killed Horus.Hahhhahahahahahahahahah!!!"

@Mike - I like vanilla marines more than spikey marines. My first foray into Warhammer was with the first edition Space Marine game, which was set in the Heresy. This is like coming full circle for me. Plus, as Danguinius says, you can expect to see chaplains and tech marines in chaos armies now. So spikey marines are becoming more like their vanilla cousins in that sense.
To each their own I say. I am sure chaos players will be happy to have a new codex and be top of the heap for a while. In the meantime I will be looking at FW and crying because I can't afford to buy half of their shiney new resin toys. Plus, I have some chaos marines myself....

I will amend my above post by saying it might be nice if they made Primacrh models, but not necessarily rules.

I'm a chaos player and I have no interest in being top of the heap. What I am interested in is well designed miniatures the fit the fluff.* GW are not ticking those boxes right now. Which, in a way, is good, as I feel no compulsion to run out and buy a bunch of new figs. Hurrah :)

Also, those robo-Dino's are crying out to be proxied with something cooler. Dunno what, but something...

* put another way: design the army lists and models to fit the fluff. Do not change the fluff to suit the new models or army book.

Oh, and that Angron is a nice mini. Credit where it's due. Quite tempted, actually...

I'm a chaos player

Since when? Shouldn't that be, I am a 40K player that occasionally plays Eldar/Dark Eldar but who also posseses a nauseatingly beautful nurgle army which is currently rotting away in my closet :D :D :D

As someone who has actually played Chaos Space Marines this year :D I don't personally need to be top of the heap, I just want my spikey bitz back!

And why not change the fluff, GW has been doing it constantly. Did ya check out the background on the Marine Librarian in the White Dwarf thread. Half-eldar Marines?!?!?!?!?!? :o

Anyways, didn't half of the Titan legions, Adeptus Mechanicus etc also go over to Chaos during the HH? Surely they haven't been idle in the last 10 millenia? Might they not have cooked up something new, unrestrained by the Luddite-like ideology of the Imperium? Just sayin'.

What the F...! No spikey Bitz?

Looks interesting on a first read through. As a Slaanesh player I like the FNP banner, although I suspect that will be a unique item. The mark stays the same which was expected.

The Warlord traits look interesting too. Quite Chaotic. The Boon table seems quite chaotic, a bit of a nod to the good ole days IMHO

Psychic powers - only 4 each? None of the Slaanesh ones look overpowered (a la Lash), which is good.

I can't wait until it comes out.

On the iPhone at work, so am struggling to read the teeny text, but in general big tables of random stuff is looking like jr might be ok. Certainly, it all seems pretty fluffy.
