I'm ready to go with priming, but alas, there's laundry drying on the veranda.

Real men don't care if their clothes are covered in acrylic spray paint. Their wives on the other hand are a very different matter.

Precisely. It's not like you'd even really notice a very light dusting of black, right?

Well, yesterday and this morning were spent working on some hedges and some other bits of terrain. The hedges are now done and I am quite happy with them (especially as they were very cheap and quick to make). Hopefully I will get some photos up tonight or tomorrow. The other bits of terrain will take a little longer, but should hopefully be worth it.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. :D

I have been buying stuff for my terrain projects, too. Good foam is expensive  :o :( ;)

I hear dat, brotha...

Today, I managed to get in a fair bit of painting, and have successfully finished her pointy stick. I've also scored a minor victory in my personal war against nomnomnom, as I recon this actually looks pretty OK for a change. Isn't progress wonderful?

*edit* as is clear from the pic, the blade was done by airbrush. Need to get in there with some green glazes to get rid of that speckled look. Wasnt being particularly careful this evening, and there was much cloggage :(

*edit again* it's a sad indictment of my current painting rate when a single 3cm long spear can be referred to as "...a fair bit of painting,"

@MiJ: fantastic work on the lightsa... Elven blade! I love the look of the metal.
BTW, what are you using to hold the pieces? Will it be used for pinning the model also?

Worked on the dwarves a bit. Work on them a bit more.

@job - I drill pin-holes, and basically proceed as I would if I were actually pinning it. Then I take a much longer piece of wire and bend it into a wee stand. Twists and bends and loops and suchlike. For small bits like her arm I just glue the stand into her arm-hole. For the actual Hesp model, I made a somewhat fiddlier wire stand that slots into her foot and her shoulder for greater stability. I find you need 2 points of contact to stop the mini from twisting about. I do superglue it in place, though. I've come to regard superglue as a temporary fixative rather than a permanent one. I mean, I'm sure youve dropped enough minis to know that superglue sometimes aint so super. For a model that actually has feet that stand on the ground, I'll almost always just drill holes in both feet, then pin it to a cork with super long pins. Hesp is a bit of a pita because she doesnt actually have any points of contact with the ground.
