What did you do today.

worked on lelith's lion's base some more. Painted it, applied flock and little grass tufts, then painted said flock cos it was, like, GREEN!!!!

That done, I'm leaving it all to dry. As per usual, once the paint was on it I noticed several things that needed fixing, most notably the green stuff Id used to build up the height on the base a bit. It had looked ok beforehand, but now I can see I really need to smooth it into the side of the base proper or it looks rubbish. I will do that on the morrow, I hope. Need to paint the flock a bit more, too. After that, I just need to think about wee points of interest like shrooms and skulls n stuff. Any thoughts Kbear? What point of interest would an elvish lion lady have on her base? Bear in mind I have a finite selection of bitz, so suggestions like "lion cub" are likely to be met with "but I aint got no lion cub mini" etc.

Is anybody else actually doing anything these days? That's 3 days in a row it's been me, all on my lonesome in this thread...

Anyway, past few days I've been basing. I'm not finished the lion or Lelith yet, but I was getting bored painting tawny, so I took a break and built a base. Kbear had asked for one that could be used either as monster sized or cav, and this is what I came up with. The models aint actually stuck together yet, btw - its all blu tac.

That's a clever solution for the basing. It's a great-looking model seeing it put together.

Where do you get your blue tack? The kind I've been using always seems to leave little bits of blue-tack residue on the model that can be hard to scrape off.

@tenbear - I bring it home with me every time I go back to scotland, then stockpile it like a madman. I have little stashes of old, used blu tac all over my hobby room.

Today I watched Back To The Future at the cinema with my oldest girl. We then met up with my wife and youngest daughter and went for KFC. After that we grabbed Mr Donuts and went home.

Ordered some PS3 games for my brother's Xmas presents.

Highly unproductive day, yet highly enjoyable.

@MiJ - Kojibear is a happy chappy! She looks beautiful mate. Great idea with the base, too.

Hmm...objects for the base? Hmm...well...Wood Elves ususally have little spites (fairy things) following them that take various forms from animals to evil looking gremlin looking creatures. Woodelves are also wild enough to keep the skulls and heads of trespassers, so skulls would also be common.
