Given your painting habits, you need some display cases. :) Glass-fronted ones, to cut down on dusting. Unless Kaz is letting you put those in the living room.

Also, I would think that the drawers under the painting table might be better underneath what I think is a hood for airbrushing? As it is, it looks like you'll be always banging your left elbow off it, whereas if the drawers were under it, you give yourself more unobstructed space to get the chair into.

As for the sofa, is that something you already own? Personally, I'd be inclined to go with two separate chairs rather than a single sofa, but YMMV.

I laid the base foam layer down on my 12" by 12" wood square terrain entry for Nagoya Hammer 2013.

I made 3 circular cork bases for foliage and trees.

Discovered that sanding foam is better done outside and with a mask :D

@AGP - there will be a glass fronted cabinet in the wall. I spoke to the house company today, and they confirmed this was doable to a depth of 9cm, which should be OK for most infantry. Good call on the drawers/airbrush box issue. I'll sort that once we get to the putting-in-of-furniture stage. It has been noted, tho. The sofa is one we have in our living room currently. (We have 2, actually) The new living room will be a deal smaller, so I'm guessing the decent, bigger sofa will stay in there while the somewhat scruffy old 2 seater will either go in the hobby room or get chucked out (or put in Sean's room, maybe). Anyway, it's something we currently have. 2 chairs might work better, tho. It's something than can be rectified in future at any point. Fair point, tho.

Are you currently doing that thing where you keep finding highly-static-charged pieces of foam sticking to your clothes, transferring themselves to your sofa, and generally pissing off your better half? Not that I speak from experience, mind :D

Today I signed and stamped (in duplicate) documents officially tying me to building a house. eek.

Yesterday I worked all day, walked 10km for charridee, and played a very fun game of Call of Chthulu with Tenbear, Mrs. Tenbear, Chris, Keith, and Andy, all masterfully Keeper'd by Ashmie. Many thanks to all of them for fun trek round the gardens of Edinburgh, particularly Ash for organising it and still doing it even after he had to fly back and forth to the UK in the past week.

No painting, but I did drop 30 quid on 3 Darklands minis that will soon be Plague Ogryns (but hey, they normally cost 60 quid. Not a small saving, there, no?), as well as spending 25quid on an art book by Adrian Smith. (On which note: Adrian Smith, he of many an epic 40k picture including the Emperor Vs Horus is selling a book of his non-GW art on facebook for 25quid. I bought one cos I like art books, but be warned the shipping here is 12.50. Fortunately the shipping to my mum and dad's house is 2.50...)
current (2019) hobby interests

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Not to sidetrack this talk of buying houses, but since this is the painting forum...
Today I put some more paint on some WW2 Russians along with the base coat on a T34 and a lend-lease M8 armoured car. I'm not sure that the Americans gave any M8s to the Russians, but they did give them to the British and I can think of no reason why they might not have given any to the Russians too.

You said "tho" three times in one paragraph.

Anyway, if you already have the sofa, might as well keep it until it gets annoying, I suppose.

Yesterday, I drove two hours into foggy teuchter country to go to the Skelp wargames show in Forfar. There, I and three clubmates ate bridies and steak pies and put on our increasingly award-winning demo game again. Today, I walked into Glasgow to buy new paint brushes, paint and matte varnish, then walked home again - 10 miles in total. I'm also re-basing a lot of my sci-fi minis onto clear acrylic bases from Fenris Games.

I just saw them posted up on Wargames Vault. If anybody wants them, they are (legally) free to download.

I took a long hard look at my hobby bench and decided to go to bed.
