If you go the metal rod route, make sure you have adequate metal clippers for cutting it. Cheap wire cutters for snipping copper wiring will simply break trying to cut brass.kojibear wrote:Has anyone ever bought small metal rods for supporting minis on their bases? I want to put some warhawks on 40mm bases but they would be really top heavy and the little plastic rod that GW supply is not strong enough.

Well, well, well. The gods have smiled upon me and the gf has not. Which means one isn't speaking to me today and has left me ample time to paint. In which I have already finished painting 40k weapons, based my new 40k imperial terrain and started painting a dark elf building (alas I have chosen the dark side). So now I will get back at it while I hum Xmas tunes and dodge the inevitable fight that is brewing like I have a +2 ward save.

Without knowing the extent of the ladies wrath, I will merely wish you the best of luck and a very Merry Xmas! Pop in a sweet Xmas song and bring out the mistletoe. You never know!Primarch_Vanguard wrote:Well, well, well. The gods have smiled upon me and the gf has not. Which means one isn't speaking to me today and has left me ample time to paint. My poor Mrs has a cold on Xmas eve, the poor thing.
That meant a quiet day at home. I finished off the rocky base. Here you can see Maugan Ra laying down cover fire while the troop transports bring the fight to the enemy forces.

Very nice.
If you want to give it some strength you will need to cover it with PVA glue. That way it will not brake apart when you transport it.

Tokyu Hands is probably your best shot, actually.kojibear wrote:Tenorikuma wrote:kojibear wrote: Cheers Tenorikuma. Ok, so I need some brass rods. I guess from any hardware shop?

@ Koji: Nice looking army, Koji! I hope the misses feels better for Christmas.
@ P.V.: Good luck with the lady situation. I suggest an abundance of roses, but only dish out to buy these after you have finished all the painting you want.
My wife and I spent a quiet day. We went on a walk, ate doughnuts and then went by the supermarket. Tonight I prepare to cook tomorrow and hopefully get some work on the DA.
