Today Spev very kindly came over and we played a game of 40k, which went in favour of my stinky marines. No daemon allies this time, I might add. After the we played a couple of games of Battle for Alabaster, which I'm pleased to say were rather fun. Some of the rules phrasing needs ironing out, but with the FAQ all seemed to make sense. Overall, it's a fun game with a solid ruleset that encourages you to play in-character, and it has some nice mechanics that allow for stuff like nano-cloud generation and infection and suchlike. Thumbs up from me so far :)

Cool! I was reading the new 40k rules today. Lovely presentation and layout. I can see why people were confused with the whole shooting and wound allocation though.
The rules still seem fairly easy on the whole.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

I bought turquoise paint and lifted Tennorikuma's tarnish technique wholesale for my FB chapel. :? Certainly it was a less than creative thing to do, but it was an effective idea.

Not much hobby progress this weekend. The only thing I managed yesterday was to finish building a unit of Zulus which has been sat on my workbench for about a month without any heads. I really need to get back into a regular painting routine.

Taking a break from Ogres, I put together my Bretonnian blood bowl team from assorted plastics (thanks ToD!)

I like those.

You gonna use the Brett team roster or the human one?

So far so good. Figured out the predator tank magnets. Painted and put on the chapters emblem on my storm talon. Glued on the whirlwind launcher. Pretty much finished painting my commander as well. I added a storm bolter and the heavy flamer arm is going to be gone and in place will be a storm shield. The banner is opt and I'll get to it one of these days.
