Sounds like a great day Dave. Well done.
I didn't do anything that special today other than have a hangover. I can confirm though that I finally got my confidence back to where I want it after a distinct lack these past two years. Call it a midlife crisis if you like but I finally feel like I can breath again. It must be something to do with my job coming to an end and a new one starting. I think there will be a week between jobs starting and finishing so I'm definitely going to get some painting in. The bench is groaning with neglected minis now that have been there since last summer. :)
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

I have an ice flow one in the works as well. Visit your local 100yen shop, pick up some plastic rock floor mats. Any daiso should have them. Based them and glued them onto cardboard and foam core to make them the same height as my gaming boards (so can be slipped inbetween them for a river game). Then I filled all the cracks with that clay nendo. Then used the color glues over the nendo and only about a bottle for two pieces (6 pieces should be enough). Other than letting the nendo and glue dry, it took me only about two hours to complete the whole thing. I haven't highlighted it mind you. All together, ran me about 1200 thereabouts.
The one, the only.

Got most of the painting done on 4 genestealers. Skin's done, and the base for the armored / chitinous bits. Should finish them up later tonight or early tomorrow.

Ripped a bunch of minis off their bases in anticipation of a custom re-base. Problem: The Advanced Space Crusade boards are hella gaudy, and any models done up with bases to match would be overwhelmed by the sheer neon shininess of the base decoration. My fast-and-dirty solution: Use the same boring ash-waste base decoration I always do and hope nobody notices. AndrewGPaul's excellent suggestion: Clear acrylic bases, which also, if you use square ones, solve the trouble with round bases in terms of not always being sure of model facing, which is extremely important in ASC. Since acrylic bases were 50 for 2000 yen (including shipping) from Litko, I went ahead and ordered a bunch.

In an incredible display of productivity I managed to almost finish my Swooping Hawk exarch, as usual I'm stumped on how to finish the base so no photo today, that way I'll spare Ashmie the heavy chore of having to congratulate me twice in a day :P :P :P

Boo to rain messing up plans to spray.

Put together some Hormagaunts / Grabber-Slasher proxies. They may put my custom basing to the test, in particular my decision to save money by getting 1.5mm-thick bases instead of 3mm. Pinning them down may be tricksy...
