Factions played: Legion (eLyllith) vs. Trollblood (Jarl Skuld)
Territory fought over: TB4 to EV6
Winning faction: Legion of Everblight (eLyllith)
Special Comments: I got 6 games in last weekend down in Iwakuni!I had two warm-up games on Saturday, three tournament games on Sunday, and one more grudge afterthe tournement! My new favorite caster, Jarl "untouchable" Skuld. Unfortunately, I ran into one of the most dangerous lists out there (if you are ot prepared for it) and when didn`t use timed turns or scenario which also greatly assisted eLyllith. Thinking I was safe, I just moved up on my first turn and hoped to get some charges off with my Long Riders on the second turn...but they never got he chance. Instead, Lyllith feated on the first turn and, combined with eyeless sight which let her and her beasts see right through the forest I was trying to hide in), shot more than half of my army off the board. Two Ravagores were the main culprits, but a Bolt Thrower Nepalim, a Naga and Lyllith herself add a lot of pain. I just coldn`t believe the range they got with the feat and two shots!!! Not to mention, all beats could boost to hit my high DEF stuff even! All 5 Long Riders, the Bomber, and the the Thumper Crew all died, and Jarl was knocked down to a single point of life! I had been had. It was enough to make me feel like giving up. A guy observing the battle asked if I would give up. But, I noticed Lyllith had no fury left on her...
...Jarl upkept Quicken on himself. "Trollses" gave Jarl some help on his next spell. The Pyre Troll was close enough to bypass stealth and lobbed a boosted ball of fire on her for 8 damage. Jarl went through the forest, checked control range, and learned he still wasn`t in range. He used the Farstrike animus from the Imapler, cast magic bullet...and then my opponent interrupted me to remind me that Lyllith and all of her beasts had stealth (due to a spell effect). I replied, "But, he Shepard doesn`t have stealth and Jarl can see him. Jarl fired and killed the Shepard; my opponent still couldn`t see my plan, but removed that model thinking I was just trying to kill a model or two before going down in flames (literally). Then, I announced, "Magic bullet into Lyllith" My opponent protested with Lyllith`s crazy high DEF, but I told him it didn`t matter, magic bullet hits automatically (on the riccochet). I boosted the damage an got her down to a single point of life left!!!!! Noooooooooooooooo!!! And only one fury left, not enough to cast magic bullet again. It was almost the greatest come from behind victory in the history of wargaming...almost.

Special Comments: I got 6 games in last weekend down in Iwakuni!I had two warm-up games on Saturday, three tournament games on Sunday, and one more grudge afterthe tournement! My new favorite caster, Jarl "rope-a-dope" Skuld pulled out a another tight one in the outflank scenario (two large circular zones). This was the first round of the tournament and my opponent was hungry for revenge after his narrow defeat the day before. He altered his list quite a bit, but still went with the Witch Coven; I used the exact same list as the previous day. We were tied on control points. The Long Riders had all been slain in one zone to a lethal team of Harrower and Ripjaw. Horthol took out a Stalker out one flank. My Bomber and Pyre Troll had taken out Bane Lord Tarterus and most of a unit of Bane Thralls in the other zone but the remaining four Banes just about had Jarl surrounded! Jarl had 3 fury for transfers, but Bane Thralls role 4d6 on the charge with dark shroud (-2 ARM). Things didn`t look good. But, due to Jarl`s crazy high DEF (17 under the effects of the spell quicken), he dodged all but one of the blows which he transfered onto a nearby Impaler. On my next turn, he danced out of combat with his evasive ability (no free strikes) and into the zone. He then cast magic bullet, shot and killed one Bane, riccocheted into the next to kill it. He cast magic bullet again, shot and killed a third guy and riccocheted and killed the Bane officer; simultaneously eliminating all nearby threats and dominating the zone for TWO control points and the win a dice down a minute or so later. Jarl`s craftiness pulled out another close win agains the Witch Coven

My new favorite caster, Jarl "I-know-what-you-did-last-summer" Skuld finally won outright in scenario (the one with three flags in the middle of the board and one randomly disappears). This was the second round of the tournament and my first ever battle against Kaelyssa. She had a Phoenix and Discordia and a whole lotta Sentinels (wih UA) and eEiryss. Basically, I lined up my AEOs against his infantry and my Long Riders (tough-a-loes) against his jacks and warcaster. We met roughly in the middle of the board and the Bomber and Pyre Troll cleared out buckets of Sentinels ad Eiryss (a.k.a. the soulless elven hooker) after they gang-tackled Horthol. The Bomber did all of this while in B2B with a flag nd denying them from getting close, so I scored three Control Points. Meanwhile, Discordia was winning a ranged battle with my Impaler (they were standing on opposite shores of a pond) and my Long Riders bowled over the Phoenix (slam!!!) to keep it of the objective. The big Myrmadon did it`s best to keep them from getting too far, but two slipped by and charged Kaelyssa directly. Due to impact hits and axe chops, Kaelyssa almost got taken down (last one life point - again). Discordia came back to help the Phoenix kill off the remaining Long Riders and keep Kaelyssa alive...but on the other side of the board, Jarl snuck out of the forest adding some more pistol shots and magic bullets to clear out the remaining Sentinels and dominate the flag for the win. Jarl`s getting sneakier and sneakier.

Factions played: Khador (The Butcher - prime version) vs. Trollblood (Borka)
Territory fought over: KH2 to TB3
Winning faction: Trollblood (Borka Kegslayer)
Special Comments: I got 6 games in last weekend down in Iwakuni!I had two warm-up games on Saturday, three tournament games on Sunday, and one more grudge afterthe tournement! My "back up" caster, puled out a razor thin victory - my first victory ever (in three tries) over the Butcher (pButcher). I took the Borka list because I needed brawn over speed: I went with Borka and three heavies - the Mauler, the Blitzer and Rok (character warbeast with a huge axe). This was the third round of the tournament and my opponent was trying out a new list. The scenario was Process of Elimination two rectagular zones with monoliths in them: 1 Control Point for destroying a monolith, 1 point for controling a zone and 2 CPs for dominating a zone). It turned into lumberjack contest; who could chop down their ARM 20, 15 damage box monolith first. I ran up a full unit of Kriel Warriors and jammed the zone in front of the Butcher, 5 MoW Shocktroopers, a Juggernaut, a Manhunter, a Berzerker and the War Dog. This prevented his guys from even getting to the monolith and they decided to chop down Trolls instead. On the other side, Rok used his animus (Primal) and chopped down the monolith in two swings. He then went on to scrap a Marauder while my Mauler beat down the Berzerker. I scored first and it turned into a major grind from there on out.
It was getting late in the game when my opponent finally got the Juggernaut to the monolith and chop it down to tie the game at 1-1. But, in my zone, I just had to kill three MoW Shocktroopers (another squad) with Rok, Borka, and the Mauler and would dominate the zone for the (likely) win. But, when I went to move Rok, dice down was called! No caster-kill, tie on Control Points, so it came down to remaining army points. He took out my Blitzer and the Fell caller, but didn`t get over 50% of the Kriel Warriors, so he only took 12 points. Meanwhile, the Trolls had crushed the Marauder, Berzerker, War Dog (that was nice!! Here doggy - axe to face!!) Yuri the Axe, and a Manhunter for the close win. With this victory, I won the Iwakuni "Far East Rockin` Rumble" 35-Point Steamroller Tournament and I got my first "coin" (those familiar with Privateer Press Tournaments know what this means - great prize support from PP). Good games and good fun with great opponents: thanks again to Gannon for running everything.

Factions played: Cryx (Witch Coven) vs. Trollblood (Jarl Skuld)
Territory fought over: TB6 to CR2 (again...and the city of Berck falls!)
Winning faction: Trollblood (Jarl Skuld)
Special Comments: I got 6 games in last weekend down in Iwakuni!I had two warm-up games on Saturday, three tournament games on Sunday, and one more grudge afterthe tournament! This was the grudge match. My opponent (who went on to take second place in the tournament) lost to Jarl on Saturday and again in the first round of the tournament. After the tourney, I still had time for another battle, and my opponent wanted revenge - insisting that he could beat Trolls with his Witch Coven list. I was getting a little tired of Jarl, so I took Borka and three heavies. This was a very bloody battle and neither of could get a control point. I made a key positioning mistake and his Harrower emerged from deep water and threshed like 5 Kriel Warriors. Then, that whole side of the board started to collapse for me as Bane Thralls and Bane Lord Tarterus killed just about everybody including my Blitzer. The Fell Caller contested the zone and sprayed Thralls with his Fell Call, somehow holding them back.
But, Rok totally beat the hell out of his Reaper ad turned it into scrap while my Mauler slipped around a cottage and fence and into charge range of the Coven! It looked like it would be over next turn, but he desperately ran his Ripjaw over to engage it...and the next turn I failed to keep the Mauler under control anyway; it frenzied and pounded the Ripjaw. he Coven escaped after that by running away onto a hill. I could sense there wasn`t much time left on the game clock (another great thing about WarmaHordes tournament battles - no one knows exactly when the game will end except the TO), so I desperately moved Borka into the no empty zone, protecting him from charges on two sides with Rok and Keggy (and topping off Borka to trigger his stumbling drunk rule). The two CPs from dominating the zone gave me the win as dice down was called at the end of the next turn.
This was the fall of the city of Berck - the last major Cryx stronghold in the map campaign. Cryx has nearly been eradicated from the Iron Kingdoms...and I`m starting to get the hang of using Trolls, especially Jarl. I`ll get 2-4 games in next weekend in Fukuyama. I`m looking forward to playing again!

Factions played: Cygnar (pNemo) vs. Trollblood (Borka Kegslayer)
Territory fought over: TB6 to CY2
Winning faction: Trollblood (Borka Kegslayer)
Special Comments: I got two games in last weekend, both against Cygnar (but different players). The first was a fairly big game against Gannon and his 2013 caster-of-choice, pNemo. We played the Into the Breach scenario which has players divide their forces and try to hold a flag and a circular zone. Gannon`s forces contained no infantry, just 4 heavy jacks, "junior", and a Hunter. I had close to thirty models on the table including full units of Kriel Warriors and Pyg Burrowers...so this was rally an up-hill battle for Gannon. To make matters worse (for him), the flag as in the middle of forest and half of the zone was filled by a lake. My Kriels got Pathfinder from the Fellcaller and jammed the flag (completely surrounded it) and the entire forest prevented either player from getting any points. The Cygnar jacks were afraid to go near the water, so Borka, a Blitzer and Rok camped out there to win on scenario (dominating the zone was TWO control points per turn). The Iwakuni WMH meta is still very beast/jack heavy; this has allowed my infantry swarms to jam up the battlefield and control the locations/pace of the battles. This trend was definitely evident in this battle. Afterwards we both felt our playspeed was increasing. Neither of us ran out of time on any of turns and we finished the game 10 minutes before the game-clock expired.

Special Comments: I got two games in last weekend, both against Cygnar (but different players). The second was a smaller game against a new player using pStryker. We played the Outflank scenario which has players divide their forces and try to hold two circular zones. My opponent, being new to the game, played pretty well as far as remembering rules and such, but still played with a 40K-mentality (i.e. attrition - destroy all of my opponents pieces starting with the heavest hitters). This worked a bit at first since his Long Gunners were holding back and doing two CRAs into my warbeasts every turn. He took out my Impaler and Bomber by the third turn while I had only destroyed his Hunter. But, by the end of the fourth turn, he had nothing controlling or contesting the left zone; I had Jarl hanging out in there scoring two points a turn for dominating the zone while picking off Long Gunners that moved up close. The other zone was jammed up with Burrowers encircling Stryker, but unable to hit him due thier incredibly low MA/RAT. In the end, he waited too long to try and contest the left zones and Jarl was able to shoot down a highly-damaged Ironclad to dominate the zone for a third time, securing victory.

Re: Warmahordes Campaign Progress Reports
Date: April 14
Points played: 40
Factions played: Cygnar (Jeremiah) vs. Menoth (High Exemplar Kreoss)
Territory fought over: CI7 to PR3
Winning faction: Menoth
Special Comments: The Menoth Exemplars proved a tough nut to crack so I tried to pull off a rather ballsy caster kill which almost worked as it came to rolling a 6 on one die. Not impossible, but with the Menoth 'jacks not being able to be damaged by anything but magical range attacks and hand to hand, there wasn't much choice. But as it was, I had to call it as the next turn we would have seen Jeremiah hit for a home run by the Menoth's Reckoner...

Points played: 35
Factions played: Cygnar (Kara Sloan) vs. Everblight (Thagrosh)
Territory fought over: EV1 to CY5
Winning faction: Cygnar
Special Comments: This was a much happier affair with the fast beasties outpacing their brethren and getting shot up by my hunters and long gunners one by one. Despite loosing guys along the way, I was able to advance towards the Everblight lines and get Mr. Thagrosh to back peddle into the waiting arms of Watts from the Black 13th who shot him in the back. What?? Where's the honour you say?...

Factions played: Cygnar (Nemo) vs. Khador (Harkevich)
Territory fought over: CY 7 to RE1
Winning faction: Cygnar
Special Comments: I didn't seen much of this one, but it was won by complete the mission objectives of Killing Field. It sounded like Khador need another turn or too to squash Cygnar. But that's the way it goes.
I forgot to move one of my models and ended up losing on victory points. If I had moved a turn sooner then the game could have continued for another turn and whilst the outcome would not necessarily have been any different, the Cygnar mechanics would have had a hard time putting all their jacks back together again.
