I haven't been able to do anything for myself for several weeks now; I've been doing the board for G3's 2013 participation game. Still, the end is in sight, and soon I will be able to crack on with all the lovely toys I bought at Salute last weekend.

I quite fancy salute, but unfortunately the likelihood of my ever actually attending is exactly zero, as it falls in April, which is the first month of term, so no holidays then, ever. :(

Today I painted: not one but TWO legs. I'm getting faster :D

Finally finished my part of the game board:

Now I'm starting to build one of these:

Slow going so far; the bottom of it is riddled with bubles.

The red track is laser-cut 3mm translucent acrylic, made for us by Sarissa Precision. It's held up by 50-odd little copper tubes - plumbing connectors, IIRC. The board underneath is just 6mm MDF. The brown areas are sand, painted and drybrushed. The patterned section is printed onto A4 adhesive labels, cut to shape and stuck down.
