Salamanders slithering in from America
Hello everybody.
Text can not express the amount of joy I'm experiencing from finding this community.
I'm a 40k player from the US, a semi-regular at Adeptus Windy City tournaments in the Midwest.
I'm currently a foreign exchange student just outside of Nagoya. I don't have my army with me, but I can have my family send a portion of my ~6k point salamanders army.
My Japanese is currently hardly conversational. I'm hoping that this could be a great opportunity to make friends and learn more Japanese.
Are there any more frequent meetings that I can show up to?
Thanks!

Hello and welcome to NagoyaHammer.
We usually meet on the last Sunday of each month at the very least (though for various reasons there is nothing organised for this month). We also have semi-regular events throughout the year catering for most kinds of games. Our main event of the year is the NagoyaHammer 40K tournament, which was held on Friday and Saturday. Most of the forum regulars play 40K so you should be able to get some games in once your army shows up.
Feel free to jump into any open threads or even start a few of your own.
Regards,
P.

Howdy and welcome. As prim (the wise and ever-knowing) said, please feel free to join in any threads or start your own. And by all means post random wafflings in the "what I did today" thread. Everybody else does, after all
Ps - with regards to getting a game in, you'll often see folks posting to say they're organising games in their own area, too. Last weekend we mostly all went to the once-a-year two day bash in Nagoya, so we're pooossibly a wee bit gamed out (well, I am), but soon enough folks will be canvassing for opponents again

Welcome aboard. There is lots of game geekery going on in and around Nagoya, so you won't be lonely. Where abouts are you living, going to school?

Glad you found the forum and group. I kind of stumbled upon the group in much the same way and was equally delighted! You will find us to be a great bunch of people with a relaxed and fun gaming style. Lots of narratives and Orc voices to be found! So bring your best 'For the Emperor!" voice with you that you can shout with equal enthusiasm whether it be a glorious defeat or a final last stand
Hope to see you soon.

I'm glad to see so much response!
A couple people asked, so I'm just about twenty minutes west of Nagoya. Not sure as far as actual distance goes. Classic Chicagoan behavior; measure distance in time.
