Haven't been painting much, too hot!!
bought some Dust tacktics stuff, Russian chopper with robot, KV-3 robot, squad of Russian specialists
and a 1/48 JS2 tank.
The Dust Tactics stuff had some issues though, The helicopter had the blades loose and KV3 robot was missing a part on the left arm, not a biggie, think i wail glue the chopper blades and paint some battle damage on the other one.

Went to JIG Kansai in Osaka last weekend, played some fun games.

No titans in 40K? never seen the old Armourcast Reaver Titans and Eldar Titans or the recent warhounds from Forgeworld?

When I (we) say "no titans in 40k" we're drawing a difference between Apocalypse and regular 40k. Currently, GW seem to be very keen to close that gap, but personally I very much prefer 40k at the smaller end of the scale. In fact, I don't see the need for Apocalypse at all. I reckon the world would be a happier place if there were 3 scales of war in the 41st millennium. A one-squad-each size skirmish game, a 1500pts-a-side (4-6 squads, 2-3 tanks or dreads) game, and Epic scale humongous world-destroying armies with warmachines the size of a city block. Trying to play Epic with 40k minis is something which started at Games Day, and should, frankly, stay there. It's the domain of show-only demo games, not home gaming.

Incidentally, I was on the GW site yesterday and was struck by their descriptions of their merchandise. E.g.

Apoc carry case:
GW sales website wrote:The Warhammer 40,000: Apocalypse - Gamers Edition is huge. Just look at those photographs. You are going to have to be quick to get your hands on this because it is going to sell out fast. In fact, click on that "add to cart" button now and then come back and read the product description.
Vortex template:
GW sales website wrote:A vortex grenade is a standard strategic asset as detailed in the Apocalypse rulebook, which means anyone can take one. So what are you waiting for, soldier? Add this to your arsenal! And be quick about it as they're in limited supply.

Subtle! I'd still rather not see that kind of language used in general on the forums thanks.

Today I did some more work on my AZW British. I have 52 of them on my paint station (or the living room floor as my wife calls it) and today I painted the coats on just over half of them, so I am making progress. Hopefully I can have enough Brits and Zulus done by Christmas to play a small game.

Tonight I endeavor to work on the Swiss a tiny bit. That or watch some Gladiator. :D

Edit: ended up placing an order with Perry miniatures and reading instead.
